Fandoms: Cursed, Dead Like Me, Dog Soldiers, Fairy Tales, The Secret Garden, Fray, and Ice Princess.
This round could almost be called The One With All The Humans Who Become Beasts. (Or, you know, yay, werewolves!)
Cursed
"Fairy in Wolf's Clothing: A Cautionary Tale", a funny, hot story about Bo and Jimmy and the good and bad sides of being a werewolf.
"Nothing Hurts Like Your Mouth", about Jimmy dealing with the aftermath of being a werewolf, Ellie repressing, and Bo being a cocky constant.
(I'm spam again from here on out, apparently.)
Dead Like Me
"Into Seas Without a Shore", a wonderful story about George having to clean up one of Mason's messes. It has great dialogue, a fantastic tone, and is just sharp and wonderful. (Except for the last scene, which I thought was melodramatic and unnecessary, but the rest of the story was good enough I could ignore it.)
"Perennial or Three Post-Its George Never Got", a bittersweet story about Reaping with amazing, spot-on characterization and dialogue.
Dog Soldiers
"and so the dogs of war sing their song", a dark, lovely piece about Cooper after the war, and his dreams, and what he has to do next. The end was so subtly creepy it filled me with anticipation of horrors to come.
"Of Men and Dogs", a sharp story about Cooper's past, filled with excellent details and characterization.
Fairy Tales
"Rough Diamond", a lovely, enchanting retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I have a fondness for such retellings.
"In a Dark Wood", another retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This one is just a touch too much like McKinley's Beauty for my piece of mind, but the language is so lovely, the details so intense, I loved it despite my misgivings.
Frances Hodgson Burnett - The Secret Garden
"Looking on to Spring", a story about Christmas past, present, and future, and the way Mary, Colin, and Dickon create their own magic.
Fray (comic)
"Stories Darkness Tells You", a dark, twisted story about love and obsession and evil. I've not actually read Fray, but, um, I will right away, because wow, and woah, and oh, it's taken my soul.
Ice Princess
"Landed (With Strings)", a sweet, slightly sad, story about growing up and wanting more and falling for your best friend. I love these types of stories.
