More coherently, I loved the psychological split in John's mind, between his "human" self and "mutant" self. That was a great way of explaining the off-kilter, hostile vibes that he was always giving off. I haven't yet seen the third movie, but this makes me want to...

Thank you so much! I quite love Gambit, Pyro, and slash, as well, so I'm glad to hear you think they worked together.

One of my favorite parts of John's characterization is the way he seems to have two sides to himself, the more human X-Man side and the more mutant-only Brotherhood side. He's torn, like any teenager, between what he is and what he wants to be and what he could be, and I like to explore that.

Plus Pyro and Gambit are just yum together and apart.

I liked the third movie, but I had some pretty big issues with it, as well, which made me also dislike it.
