Betty Friedan

This morning I was completely a waste of human flesh. It was great. Woke up late, watched some lazy TV, started to watch the movie for Spanish (didn't finish it though... got half an hour through), then called the Village Center. I asked how long the Betty Friedan thing would be, they said about 1-2 hours long. Unfortunately Jill couldn't come because she had to re-arrange her work scheduel. SO! I decided, me and Katherine should take a nice long walk up to Bethesda.

So, we walked up there (nice, long walk) and she took me to some thrift store she found the other day. It was interesting... Didn't find anything though. Then we went to the happy flea market. yay! I love it there. I actually bought something.!! I know, me? buying something? End of the world. As we know it. It's a gorgeous green necklace thing. Yes, I'm quite happy with it. Then we stopped by Subway for lunch, then to B&N to look around.

Around 3:30, we metroed back to FH to see Betty. Unfortunately, the lady I talked to on the phone was an ex-convict who was put in jail for compulsive lying... grumble! So, pretty much, we missed her talking, but she had just started signing books. So, I bought 2 of The Feminine Mystique and got them both signed (one for Jill). Of course, the (who I'm guessing is a) Newspaper guy, saw me and my sister, the youngest by at least 20 years, waiting to get the books signed, popped out his camera, and got a picture of me w/ Betty Friedan, which will probably end up on the front page of the Gazette, or something. Oh well, no complaints (me + Betty! WOOT!).

Anyways, that's about it. I'm really really tired, actually. I have to metro back up to Bethesda at 5:20 for Driver's (flippin') Ed. Eew. It actually wasn't too horrible. Just blech. I'd rather be taking a night class at MC or something. (I'm actually thinking about doing that this summer... yay!)
