So last-night I was sitting at my mother’s place watching this “Today tonight” show that she claims she never watches but is on EVERY FREAKING TIME I AM THERE even when if I’m there at lunch time on a Sunday. It’s like she has a porthole to hysterical TV connected to her antenna.
Now it’s probably no secret that I am not a Tony Abbot fan. Even more so since I had a child. My daughter who is defiantly going to be smart enough to go into science (what? I’m allowed to do that I’m a proud father) won’t be able to in this country because of Tony Abbot. She will have to move over seas and worry both her parents sick. So I was there with her on my knee, watching her working out how to play 3 blind mice on a mini keyboard. Whilst simultaneously trying to rip the buttons off my shirt. (she’s a multi-tasker) and a story comes on TT about how Tony is going to be throwing $200 per couple for Marriage counselling……..
WTF!!!!!
Ok I have an idea. Why don’t people just enter marriage more carefully? Or….how about we don’t try to interfere with the social death of an outdated institution that is lose relevance in today’s society.
So let me get this straight…..
• We don’t have a science minister
• Climate change is bullshit
• Science has lost all its funding
• We still have homeless people
• We are cutting foreign aid
• We are cutting funding to disability services
• We are turning away and possibly burning asylum seekers contrary to an international convention that we are signatories too……
AND YET we can afford to fund marriage counselling.
