Recently I have learnt two things.
Firstly, we're all still learning. People just starting at the bottom, people midway, people towards the top - we're all still learning. We have all walked different paths to get to where we are, so even if two people stand at the same rung of the ladder today, we have gotten there in different ways, and no one path can completely prepare us for what lies ahead. Those who stand at the bottom today have never seen how those above us got to where they are, and it's easy to judge those above us without giving a second thought that they, too, have not been prepared perfectly for the responsibilities set on their shoulders.
Which then brings me to the second thing: that because we all grow so imperfectly, we need to be patient with one another. The mentor with the junior, the mentored with the leader. Because no matter where we've gotten to, what we have achieved, what responsibilities we bear, we are all fallen beings. And we were created with hearts to be moved to pick up those who fall, not keep them down.
