YouTube is being annoying and not letting me find Oasis music videos.
But anyway, it occurs to me over and over again that Don't Look Back In Anger, which is the second Oasis song I got to know of (after Lyla, which I didn't like back then and almost led me to not like Oasis), is a song that repeatedly finds relevance to episodes in my life. Well, not the whole song, but parts of it at each time. For all the times I would rather just slip inside the eye of [my] mind / don't you know you might find a better place to play? For all the moments when I feel like screaming take that look from off your face / you ain't never gonna burn my heart out, for all the missed chances and the realisations that it's too late as [it's] walking on by, and for all the times, when at the end of it all, I can only tell myself: don't look back in anger, at least not today. Sometimes the lyrics don't even make sense to me as a whole, but at other times they fit so nicely into the jarring gaps. And it's so satisfying to belt along to as well, just not at kbox where the music video for the song is simply horrible.
Speaking of which, I'd love to belt this song out from the balcony right now, but that is certainly not a very sane or considerate thing to do.
introspective,
