What a clusterfuck at work today. The boss was distracted because she had a viewing to go to tonight and the funeral tomorrow (and she thinks she might be pregnant which is a whole other clusterfuck) and she asked me to stay late tonight to package up all the stuff for Saturday so the guy filling in won't have any problems. Sounds easy enough, right?
So I turn on Marten (the laptop) so I can have my tunes and Marten. Isn't. Working. Marten has EVERYTHING on it. Including all the stories I've written in the last 2 years including the Kurt/Blaine fic I have been slaving over (not really) for the last week. *facepalm* Cue me sort of freaking out and wasting about half an hour trying to fix it and failing.
So I'm packaging away and this one woman has this dress that is basically a sweaterwhich means it takes me a fucking hour to get all the pills off and make it look even semi-decent. I look at the clock and frown. It is 6:30 and the dry cleaning hasn't shown up yet. Odd. I keep on packaging and doing my thing and then 7:30 rolls around and STILL no dry cleaning. Now, the shop actually closes at 7 and we had been planning on me only staying until 8 because usually the dry cleaning comes between 6:30 and 7:15. The dry cleaning didn't show up until 7:45 and it was only 12 pieces. We were expecting closer to 30 or 40.
The woman who wants her stuff on Saturday (and who will totally show up before noon)? None of it is there. So I packaged what was due for Saturday that I did have and left a note for the boss (I had already texted her at 7:30 to let her know the dry cleaning hadn't shown up but I think she's still at the viewing). Sooo yeah. Tomorrow is going to be super awkward for the guy filling in.
I? I am looking up greyhound tickets and entertaining the idea of taking amtrak even though the cheapest ticket I've found so far is $95. Yikes. It is expensive to travel amtrak on a Saturday :P Futzing around and procrastinating since it is what I do. I should really try and get some laundry done and clean up the kitchen. I'd really like to be out the door by 7 a.m. The sister is expecting me around noon. Whee! Uncertain traveling plans are always fun.
