My friends had a baby!!!
My former roomies had a baby last night! He's healthy, and so are they! This is the couple that I usually describe as my favorite couple, the only couple whose relationship I have ever envied. Normally I'm not big on procreation, but in their case it's very hard to rile myself up into a fit of disapproval. The idea of there being a little creature made up of a combination of those two people is just fascinating and perversely eliciting of optimism and just - I don't know. Maybe all this is just a byproduct of having spent a year meeting creatures that have no personality yet and are probably not going to develop one I like given their situation in the world. As of about a week ago, they still hadn't decided between two names, so I don't even know what to call him yet. But they had the baby! Yay!
