Mallow tredici: for the lulz

Oct 21, 2010 09:56

[There are an awful lot of Italian students housed in this school, aren't there? So many that it shouldn't be uncommon to see tidbits of Italian here and there, to hear it in passing conversations. It's almost a little sad for the Japanese students who can't understand it, since it's such a fine language.

But, maybe it's for the best they don't- ( Read more... )

[It's... a lot more like a smut letter.
Spanner wishes he hadn't read that :( ]

Uh...

[Liar. It flattered you, didn't it.

Up ahead, Byakuran's at the vending machine, unaware that he's dropped his latest pile of perversion.]

[Did not.
He'll be looking around for the source of the letter, glancing back down at the words written in neat, slanting script and feeling just a little bit uncomfortable.
And you know, there doesn't seem to be any Italians around. Except for - is that Byakuran? - somebody up ahead at the vending machines, back to him; Spanner registers the shock of white hair and frowns.

... Of course. He'll be balling up that 'love letter' now, in both hands.]

[It wasn't for Shouichi, if that's what you're thinking.

He'll be getting himself some strawberry kit kats now.]

[That's what he's thinking.

And get away from his flavour. :|
Can you feel him staring at your back? If not, he's throwing that crumpled up 'poem' at your head.]

Mmm? [He turns around with the candy in hand, staring at the blonde, and then glancing down to the paper ball. Crouching to pick it up, he recognizes it immediately.]

My my, Span-chan, is this for me~?

... No.
[He knows you wrote it.
Who else would write such a thing?

Actually - Lussuria might have -- ] Don't leave love notes to Shouichi lying around.

It's not for Shou-chan.

[He says nonchalantly, eyes cold. He hasn't paid the boy any mind or affection for almost a week- he's getting the silent treatment, oh yes.]

[Huh.]

... Who is it for, then? [He's been doing the same thing; keeping a careful distance, not speaking, nothing. It's been weird, actually.]

[...It has been weird. He at least has his brother here now, to take out his stress on- but he has to restrain himself from harassing the redhead, sometimes. He's grown so used to immediately beelining towards him.]

Wouldn't you like to know~?

[Spanner has other friends, but they're not in the same year as him, and nothing says awkward like sitting in a science class alone with your boyfriend(?) and not speaking. You're usually in that science class too, btw. Where did you go?
Also, he forgot how annoying you were, since he's been avoiding you too.]

No, actually. Never mind. [Spanner shoves his hands into his pockets.]

[Byakuran has more than enough 'friends'. But, well. You know his opinion- there is a severe deficiency in people who are actually entertaining for longer than 10 minutes.

He dropped that science course. He has no reason to be in it, after all, if not to talk to Shouichi.]

How have you been, Span-chan~? Has your throat healed~?

[How terribly boring for you.
Oh, of course. Interesting how education takes a back seat to your strange love interests.

Spanner raises an eyebrow. This is the first time they've talked in a week, after all.]

... I'm fine. And why do you care? [The bruises have faded at least, though some still stand out, mottled a sickly yellow colour on his skin.]

[He hardly needs the education, anyhow. It's a hobby, a leisure activity- because as soon as his father conveniently dies, he'll have his whole life's career ahead of him. No fancy degrees necessary.

He pouts, but his voice is smiling.]

Because I feel bad~?

[Conveniently dies, or is conveniently murdered?]

... Huh? [Spanner pauses, mulling these words over in his head, watching Byakuran carefully.]

I realized that it wasn't entirely Span-chan's fault.

[He says brightly.]

That if anything, him and I are victims.
