Well. Now that it seems all the new lambs have been brought to our pleasant little hamlet, might I ask a question?

Is there anyone in this village licensed to be a beautician? A hair stylist? Manicurist? Anyone? There is only so much a lady can do for herself.

And only so long she can stand neglecting the finer things in life.

acting normal, asking questions, beauty is only skin deep, new feathers, drama queen, idle chatter, girly time~

Let me know if you find one. Another week or two and I'm going to have to consider a new hair style.

Oh and that would be a tragedy. You've such nice hair.

Oh--well. [Kay sounds genuinely surprised. She's mostly out of practice at talking with other women on anything approaching a daily basis.] Thank you. Yours is nice, too.

Why thank you. I do try to take care of it, even here.

A bit more difficult. Can you believe I'm getting split ends? It's horrific!

I suppose it'd be hard to avoid them, hair that long. Have you tried trimming it yourself?

Oh, I have, but then things just become a bit uneven. I'd much rather just go in and have a proper trim. Especially for my fringe. It's getting a bit out of hand.

Oh, bangs're hard to cut yourself. I always used to go cross-eyed when I tried.

We might just have to train somebody up.

Oh, but who? Having a stylist one trusts is so important.

As long as she's got a steady hand, I don't care who. Everything else can probably be taught, if someone can find a book on cutting hair.

Do they have those?

... Mm...I suppose I should look into it.

I hope so. If there was someone here who could teach people to cut hair, though, we could just be going to her.

Something to see about, anyway, or we'll have to trim each others' hair, and I'm a few decades out of practice.

How about I look into it and we test out this theory, hm? Perhaps if one of us becomes adept enough, we can simply open a parlor of our own.

[Kay doesn't respond right away. When she does, it's a little wry.] We'll see--but you probably don't want me cutting your hair, trust me.

No talent with the shears, hm?

My hair never looked quite right when I tried to do it myself, and we'll leave it at that.

I completely understand. Which is why the continued trend of "Oh, we have no stylists here" is beginning to upset me.
