Life: 50fest... celebrating life, friends and music

Oct 14, 2016 13:39

It's finally time for me to post some of the awesome pictures I took at the party last weekend!

To give you a little bit of a backgrownd informations about what the party was for, I will start by saying that Eric has been working on this for almost a year! He had this idea about getting all his friends, from different parts of his life, together in one place, to celebrate the fact they were all turning 50. The event was splitted in two evenings.

The first one was at Victor's, this awesome pub that ages ago was a church... The place is awesome and the food is super good! We had dinner there and then Tom, Dick and Howie played their guitars for the rest of the evening. Tom is the guy who married Eric and I, and Howard and David (Dick) are two of Eric's closest friends, thet met in Tampa in the 80es when Howard invited Eric to spend some time with he and his flatmates down there. Eric quit his job and started a new chapter of his life there and they became very close friends! Their playlist was 95% Grateful Dead and 5% Hits from the 80es! They were amazing! They haven't played together for a while since Tom (the Rev) lives in North Carolina and Howard and David are here in Pennsylvania but they live quite far from eachother...

It wasn't easy to take pictures in that space unfortunately so I don't have a lot of good shoots about that evening:

Rocking!

Joey and Len catching up
The second evening was at the Studio, this big space Eric rented from 3 pm to midnight. 5 bands were playing that evening! All of them are Eric's friends and most of them didin't knew each other... the evening was such a success. At some point the band mixed up, and they all played together and created great music! That was fantastic!

Middle Management rehearsing after 30 years apart! The painting Bowie from Mars is a painting Andy made for Eric... Andy never painted anything before that, and he is now an awesome artist (check his facebook page out) that makes awesome paintings for fun, while he plays in a band and work a pretty demanding job... I don't know how he does it!

Joey from the band Legacy and Andy from Flu-Like Symptoms. Andy never played the drums before! They never played together! Still part of the rehersal/having fun before the beginning of the party.

Joel was the first one to play. Here he's playing Landslide by Fleetwood Mac, one of my favorite songs (and he knows it as you can tell LOL)

Joel liked a lot one of the song Howard played the first night and he called him on the stage to play it with him.
Joel naver played that song before and he and Howard met for the first time the night before! They were AMAZING!

I love this photo of them!

Devix (check him out... he's amazing) was next. He is a local artist that Andy called and he works in one of Joel's Music Stores and Joel didn't even know. His cover of Sex on fire by Kings of Leon was so damn good! His originals were so good! Keep an eye open for him! He's definitely going to make it in the music busines.

Flu-Like Symptoms was the third band to play! And they called Howard to help them with a song... Again they never played together and it was all improvised!

I lovet his photo of Joel talking to Andy... They're so in tune!

Andy being an awesome performer!

Time for Legacy... The last time they played together it was 1987! They were AMAZING

Joey...Such a rockstar!

The crowd LOVED them!

Love this Pic

And here's where everyone went on stage! It was glorious!

Len (black Tee, singing) and Howard (blue Tee) are best friends and the coolest bromance EVER!

Len is the lead singer to EVERY band! He knows ALL the lyrics LOL

And finally Middle Managemrnt! Gloss (Black Bass) never played bass before... they were missing a member of the band! He did an awesome job!

Andy joins them on stage!

Another acoustic session to thank Eric for making this event real!

Since the 80es were very important for all of them and helped them define who they were/wanted to be, Eric put together awesome playlists of music videos to be played on the big screens in between changes of bands and at the end of the evening when they changed into costumes:

LOL

GLORIOUS EVENING

It was so much fun! And Eric (and all his friends) had the time of his life! He worked so hard on this project and I couldn't be happier about the result! He's going to remember this evening forever!!!
