Comment: So in that story I gave them their powers, but contrary to the MAMA MV (if I understood it well at least <.<) they're not apart, they all actually live on the same planet. And this was supposed to be a short PWP but again, my brain is messing with me and instead here I am, turning up with a whole plot and all~~ xD To be honest I started this fic just after having read a freakin' scary story and I used it a bit at the beginning of the fic, even though it didn't appear scary at all in the end. And I'm not totally pleased with the beginning, but imo it gets better after, so sorry about that xD FOR ONCE CHANYEOL GAVE THE CREEPER JOB TO SOMEONE ELSE/ZBAAF/
Summary: It's always a bit unsettling to find a stranger in your house at night. And even more when you realize something is definitely off with your powers around him.
Two Moons
Tao got home pretty late that night, carefully opening the door and tiptoeing all the way to his room with his bag on the shoulder, before letting it drop without a sound when he finally arrived at destination. The inked-haired boy let out a long and tired sigh, stretched his slender but strong body before opening his door once again to silently go into the bathroom, making sure he didn't wake up anyone when he picked his ear up. Just Lu Han's low snoring, that the man always denied having when anyone tried to bring it up in a conversation. His socks smothering the sound of his step anyway, the young man quietly closed the door behind him, undressed himself and stepped in the shower, goosebumps appearing when the still cold stream hit his shins, waiting for the water to warm a bit. It always felt good after hours of training and sweating to wash it all away when he came home, bathing in the feeling of having succeeded something, not huge, but meaningful for him. He often stayed under the hot water long enough to create steam on the mirror, but tonight, he was just too tired to really enjoy the feeling and instead lazily dried himself and his hair, and draped his damp towel around his hips before exiting the room with a yawn, drawing some vicious tears out of his eyes. But even in this state of fatigue he didn't miss the clock hanging on the kitchen's wall when he passed by it, slightly swaying next to the cupboard where glasses usually were. Maybe one of his roommates came to drink some water, but again, Lu Han and Sehun were both like two bulls in a china shop when they had to walk somewhere, he should have heard something if one of them had been here some moments before.
Frowning but thinking that maybe they had solved this little problem, he headed for their bedroom to ask Sehun if he could borrow his purple shirt for tomorrow, or Lu Han if the other was sleeping. He cracked the door open not to wake up anyone if one of them was sleeping, and froze when one of his eyes noticed a third person in the room. His breath got caught in his throat when he quickly sized up the silhouette at the edge of his friends' bed, slightly leaning over it, not really defined but clearly visible from where he was, even though he couldn't tell if it were male or female. Not really knowing what to do but deciding that the other two were definitely endangered, the young man quickly looked away and closed his eyes to brace himself, calming his mind and shaky breath, before bursting into the room, prepared to fight whoever was here. And met nothing. Sehun stirred in his sleep, muttering a “fuck Lu Han, close the door” met with the infamous snoring, but that was all. Tao tried to scan the room, his eyes not used to the darkness yet, before retreating himself when he didn't seem to see anything disturbing, gently closing the door behind him with an intense frown, creating a wrinkle between his eyebrows, hand still on the door-handle. He was sure there was something - someone - there some seconds before. He noticed his sweaty hand and tried to calm himself ; The person just couldn't have escaped from the door since himself came from it, and he definitely saw nothing while in the room, he had made sure of it. So... maybe it was just his tired mind? He doubted it but saw no other way to explain it. He didn't really buy it though, and meticulously patrolled around the house to make sure no one was here, checking each dark corner, before finally giving up and coming back to his own room, extenuated and still a bit shaken.
Tao tiredly rubbed his eyes, trying to forget the weird sight he had witnessed, let the towel drop on the floor and caught the first sweatpants under his hand, pulling it on and crashing head first on his bed, looking up to see the two moons through the window before slipping under the sheets, not caring if his still damp hair wet his pillow or not. The inked-haired boy sighed contentedly, finally able to get some sleep and give in his fatigue, both physical and psychological after a day like that, and closed his eyes, forgetting everything around him. He was going to fall asleep when the moonlight darkened through his eyelids before coming back as if nothing happened, his eyes fluttering open when it happened a second time, becoming more aware when he noticed that there was no cloud in the sky to block the light. Well fuck. He rolled on his back when his eyes caught something on the ceiling, widening when they read what had been written on it before literally flying out of his bed and putting his back against the wall in one smooth motion, his pupils frantically scanning everything to find the crazy fuck that did it, his heart jumping in his chest even harder when he found nothing. “I know you're not sleeping”. If that wasn't creepy. Tao slowly moved, carefully walking along the wall and still backing it not to be taken aback if something came from behind, ready for the fight if there was to be one, when something shuffled from the corner of his eyes.
Tao didn't think twice, shooting his hand out and letting his power stop the time around him, and then let a heavy sigh fall out of his lips. He hadn't even noticed he had been holding his breath for so long. The young man made a step ahead, where his eyes had caught the movement behind the wall with a weird angle when you stepped in the room, creating a corner that you couldn't see from where he was. Jaw clenched and building all his courage up, he quickly jumped from where he was to the dangerous spot and blinked several times, letting his arms drop, black eyes round with disbelief. He was expecting someone insanely scary, with like, an unhealthy expression and mad gleam in his eyes, like if he were going to kill Tao in his sleep and never regret it, or even scars on his face, anything, really. But not this. Tao came closer to the man, as if to verify that his eyes weren't messing with him, but it seemed that it was not the case ; he couldn't say if it was fortunate for him or not though. The dark-haired boy swallowed loudly, not sure if he should come even closer or not, because damn, he would tap that if the guy wasn't intruding his house, but rather intruding his shower at the training. He slapped himself at the thought - he was still classified dangerous and worrisome, whatever how good he looked.
Honey hair combed back and staying this way as if by magic, liquid brown eyes looking on the side, as if he had seen something interesting, plush and pouty lips making Tao catch his own between his teeth, his whole posture screaming that he was going to move from the wall he was leaning against, the arms crossed on his chest slightly separated and one of his oh so long legs set to push himself from said wall. The clothes weren't bad either, the vest a shade of dark gray fitting his arms and shoulders perfectly over a white shirt, black and tight Jeans making his slim but far from skinny legs look even longer, and a belt the same color as the vest. Nothing really catchy, but damn it looked good when on a guy like that. The young man knew he shouldn't think something like that when this same guy scared the hell out of him, entered their house uninvited, creeped in Lu Han and Se Hun's room and his own, for fuck's sake, but it wasn't as if he could totally prevent his brain from going into a dirty mood either. And he still didn't know what he should do with the intruder - he couldn't keep him unmoving like that forever. He eyed his room and spotted his cell popping out of his bag's pocket, running to grab it before turning around, and freezing, his breath stopping in his lungs before going into an hyperventilating mode when his anguished eyes began to search the man that had suddenly disappeared from his previous spot, and not finding him anywhere. He shouldn't have been able to move yet.
“Nice power you have here, took me a little aback to be honest”, a low and pompous voice said from behind him, making Tao smoothly spin around, jaw clenched to face a man that would seem completely disinterested, his back against a wall once again and looking at his hands, if it wasn't for the sly smirk at the corner of his lips, warning the dark-haired boy that the other knew what he was doing.
“What do you want?” Tao inquired, not letting his surprise show on his face at the mention of his power - just a few people knew, and he trusted them enough to know that they didn't let slip anything. He watched intently as the other made a face that was supposed to be a pout, but looked more inviting than anything else if you looked closely, as if tempting the inked-haired boy to not take him seriously.
The man sighed loudly, before flippantly say something that completely unsettled Tao. “Mmh... To be honest I don't really know, I wasn't expecting you to spot me so quickly.” He detached himself from the wall in a showy way, Tao tensing straight away - things couldn't be that simple, something was definitely off -, and turned around to face him, a knowing smile now displayed on those full lips. “But again, it seems that I underestimated you, huh?”
The inked-haired boy narrowed his eyes, the smugness of the other man setting him on the edge, making him feel as if he were just a kid waiting for the adult's answers. Maybe if he continued asking questions the honey-haired man would let something slip? “Why don't you seem surprised by the fact that I have this power? Why aren't you still frozen?” Tao's feet practically danced on the floor to accommodate his body to the new moves the other had just made, adopting a new position to show that even if they were talking, his guard wasn't down. And yet, judging by the raised eyebrow and the amused grin barely hidden on the guy's face, it didn't really seem to work.
“I like the way your body moves. I wonder what these powerful yet graceful limbs could do if in an other situation...” The way his voice got lower and lower as he said those words, until finishing in purr, made the young man's mouth go dry and slightly gaping, the tongue rapidly darting out to wet his lips intently followed by darkened eyes. Nonetheless, when the nameless man blinked, it was as if this gleam of longing had never been there at all, the smug smile back and even more unnerving. “But to answer your questions, let's say that's because I'm like you, guys. I'm not sure why you didn't affect me though - I was just playing the frozen guy when you were checking me out, you know? I have amazing acting skills, as you can see.”
Tao felt a drop of cold sweat run down his spine at those statements, shooting his hand out to try and freeze the guy once again, but it seemed that it took effect on everything but him - his clock's hand wasn't moving anymore, but the intruder was still smiling, definitely enjoying himself with his little game. And it even seemed that he had an advantage the young man didn't have anymore: if had heard well, he could trigger a power at any moment, and Tao had no idea what it could be. Well fuck.
“Can you freeze your little friends?” Came the unsuspected question, the honey-haired man visibly also intrigued by this anomaly. “I mean, since they're like me - us -, it shouldn't work on them either, am I wrong?”
Tao swallowed hard, worrying even more at the mention of his friends. How the hell this guy could know. They had always hidden it at their best, no one knew but them and their family. And yes, he was able to freeze his friends, he had already done it once or twice when they were becoming annoying, so who the fuck was this man. It seemed the latter read his response on Tao's confused face, tilting his head and murmuring something under his breath, watching the young man even more closely than before.
“Well, isn't it interesting...” The honey-haired man narrow his eyes and Tao felt as if someone was boring into his very soul, the gaze piercing and intense as it was roaming all over him, probably looking for something unusual. The inked-haired boy swallowed, suddenly feeling self-conscious and noticing just now that his window was open nor did he remember when he had opened it, the light breeze caressing his bare skin and creating shivers. He hadn't even noticed that he was gripping his phone so hard his knuckles had gone white, releasing the pressure a bit and allowing blood to flow again. Both of them were silent, trying to fathom the why and the how of this odd 'problem' on their own, in their own little worlds. For the first time since Tao had found him out, the weird intruder wasn't looking at him, but rather glaring at a precise spot - which happened to be Tao's still damp towel on the floor - as if the object had personally offended him.
“You need to leave.” Tao burst out, blowing the weird silence that had taken place between them, not even awkward nor tense, just... yeah, weird. “Now.” He added when the other looked at him as if he had grown two heads. He finally seemed to realize where he was, taking in his surrounding as if he had completely forgotten he had intruded their house and was currently violating the owners' privacy.
The tall guy blinked, looking tired for what seemed to be not even a second, before it disappeared all of a sudden, so quickly that Tao wasn't even sure of what he had witnessed because the sly look was back, his expression as smug as before. The man began to slowly step back to finally slid one of his long legs over the open window, straddling it, the move making the muscled of his thighs even more obvious through the skin-tight Jeans, before putting his unnerving lips on action once again, and this time would be the last Tao hoped, even if this wish sounded a little be empty, even for his own ears.
“Too bad, I was quite enjoying the sight.”
One last glance at the young man and he was letting himself fall off the window, back facing the void as if it was nothing while Tao's room was upstairs, the young man dashing to the window in a poor attempt to make sure the guy didn't kill himself when touching down, horrified. But of course, no one was to be seen anywhere. He shut the windowpane in a angry impulse, wondering why he even worried about him while the guy was more dangerous than not as far as he knew, before passing a hand through his locks while letting escape an exasperated sigh, throwing himself on his bed. Well he was finally going to get some sleep now, at least. But seriously, how the fuck did he manage to write on the ceiling? Just as his mind was drifting off to let his tired state take over, he thought about the guy's name he didn't even know, and finally opted to call him “the hot weirdo” from now on, dreaming about how a 'weirdo' could be really good at things he would deny having even thought about when he woke up.
