Project Maple Rod

In Autumn 2000, Project Greenlight was launched. It was backed by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and from 7000 scripts, one was chosen, given 1 million USD, and turned from print to screen in six months.

Prior to this, two childhood friends shared an apartment in Los Angeles, struggling to break into acting. Unknown after years of hard work and tired of bit parts, they write their own script and star in it. Not only do they get recognized, they won an Oscar for Best Screenplay. A dream? Hardly. It's the true story of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Project Greenlight is in its third season now, and once again, a script will go from print to screen.

Project Maple Rod shares in this ethos, and is founded on PGL.

Mission: Impossible - Create a no-budget movie
Schindler's To Do List - Write a script, shoot the trailer, source for funds for a full-length picture
