I just thought I'd let you know that there are at least 473,592 ways to arse up knitting a flat circle. I think I've found about all of them, so far.
I had a simple idea: knit a flat circle in light blue, white, and yellow. I was going to decorate these with motifs from the graphic novel "Watchmen". However, when I went to knit said circles...I found out that the math I had was a bit...fuzzy.
My first 14 times, I tried knitting from the inside out...very hard to keep track of single stitches on DPNs and not lose the order or twist the stitches every which way.
THEN I knitted it from the outside in. I ended up with something that looks like one of three things:
1.) a nipple pasty
2.) a partially unrolled condom (this was my mom's assessment)
3.) a teeny-tiny hat for a beanie baby (which it now is being used for)
Greeeeaaaat.
Gonna give it a shot tomorrow with *gasp* DIRECTIONS! Maybe by reading what others have done, I'll be able to do it without sucking! How amazing is that?
Alrighty...going to bed and going to try again tomorrow. Hopefully with a great deal less suck.
