Small things make me happy

Friday before the January long weekend, bought a new Canon™ bubble-jet printer for slightly more than a colour printer cartridge cost for my HP™ bubble-jet and whose own cartridges (both colour and black, low use versions) together cost more than a black cartridge but less than a colour cartridge for my old printer. While a triple back of the long-use cartridges (two black one colour) still cost less than a black and a colour cartridge for my old printer. Apart from connecting it to the wrong USB port initially, it works just fine. Gave my old printer to my housemate Snake.

Tuesday after the long weekend, had lunch with Kerry G (who has started a new Corinna and just finished the editing of the latest Phryne) and Dennis P at my new favourite local café Seddon Deadly Sins which has a lovely vine-covered courtyard out the back.

That evening, did some slow work at Stormhold Tuesday night fighter practice. Wednesday, started pell work again and have been doing it regularly since.

Thursday, watched a useful 2005 Rattan Symposium DVD presentation on fighting as a learning philosophy.

Friday, got glasses fixed. Saturday, went to Queen Vic Markets and bought two new black jeans.

Tuesday (today) bought a new doona.

Have found that kangaroo sausages (very low fat) make useful snacks. While adding a bit of steamed brown rice to my grilled meat-and-blanched vegetables makes the meals notably more filling for longer.

Been doing some productive writing. Even more important, have actually been making serious personal inroads on the deeply personal writing that I have been agonising over for months. Found that I really do need to do it and it is liberating.
