One the way home from
Arrowsreach training at Ringwood on Monday night, did some late night shopping. Including some Lindt™ mint intense dark chocolate. Consumed prior to going to bed.
Woke up feeling much better. Drove to Kyabram (St Augustine's), making it there so I could start just on time despite getting away later than intended and missing the Hume Freeway turnoff--Kyabram is two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne.
Ancients (Rulers & Subjects, Warriors & Warfare) for Year 7's, Medieval (Weapons & Armour, Tournament) for Year 8's. All went very well, lots of fun. Lovely country kids, particularly the Year 7's. The Year 8 class include some learning difficulty kids, who missed the Weapons & Armour session but were there for Tournament. They were fine, it is a very practical session.
First time using the new T6 aircraft aluminium shield for Tournament. Worked really well, particularly after I realised I did not have to grip the handle. Some of the boys gave it a real thumping. Pack up was easy, since I had put most of the stuff in its bags during lunch and a bunch of boys carried the stuff to my car. School and students very happy.
Drove back, stopping for a souvlaki and a reading break in Murchison. Some appalling driving rain when I reach Melbourne, and the traffic on the Ring Road between the Hume Freeway exit and the Tullamarine Freeway entrance was bumper-to-bumper.
After a bit of a break checking emails and chatting on the phone to a certain Wizard, went to Stormhold Tuesday night.
Duke Bellatrix was there already doing his training. I ate my dinner briefly with
montjoye,
doushkasmum and
villana before watching then joining in. Good refresher from Duke Bellatrix's session on Sunday. Then home.
Feeling much better. I blame the chocolate.
