Matters Indigenous -- a new story please

The proposed federal interventions in NT indigenous communities, and the responses to them, give me strong feelings of can't we get out of this story?, it is so tired.

Howard's intervention *is* based on indigenous experience. The experience talked about by Hobbes: that life is nasty, brutish and short if there's no working authority and the powerless, such as women and children, are therefore abused by local bigmen. And as Hobbes says, there's only one place to start with fixing it.
