George walked out in costume, grinning, and weilding his hammer as Thor, God of Thunder.

Ensign Nylen had been eager to volunteer for the auction, offering his services as emcee and auctioneer for the evening. It was either that or be auctioned off himself, and yeah. No thanks. He smoothed down his old-fashioned tuxedo and stepped up to the podium on the makeshift stage.

Grinning, he started the festivities. "Good evening, Enterprise, and welcome to our first annual Charity Date Auction! What a great turnout - on behalf of the recreation department, I'd like to thank you all for your support."

"Now let's get this evening started, shall we? Our first entrant needs no introduction - please welcome Lt. George Kirk! Let's start the bidding off at 100 credits, shall we?"

Guinan knew a bargain when she saw one. "300 credits," she called out, looking around to see if anyone was going to challenge her.

George winked and blew her a kiss, gyrating his hips a bit. Harder to manage in this get up but it was the thought that counted, right? "C'mon, who's wants a hero of the Federation, yours for a night?

Laughing at George's antics, Aurelan decided to throw her hat into the ring. "Four hundred!" she called out. She imagined she'd be outbid, but this was going to be fun.

"That's more like it. C'mon ladies and gents, let's drive up the bid. Everything you've heard about linguists is true after all." George was having fun with this. "And everything you've heard about me too." He bounced his eyebrows intentionally.

"Five," Guinan nodded at her opponent. She did know what linguists could do - and with that in mind, she had plans for George Kirk, plans that involved three volumes of El-Aurian poetry, spoken to her in the old language.

And a neck massage.

"Five hundred credits? Is that all? C'mon people. Do you really want to give up that easily?" George turned around, letting them get the full view.

Aurelan bit her lip. She had a few others she wanted to bid on, but... "Five-fifty!" She glanced over at Guinan, wondering if the woman would counter.

George blew her a kiss and then scanned the crowd, looking over them all warmly. "No one besides these ladies is brave enough to play with me?"

She looked at her money - how high was she willing to go.

A little higher, apparently. "Six hundred."

"Six fifty," Aurelan called out. She pushed her flower garland back onto her head before it could slip over one eye, the trailing ribbons back over shoulder. The Terran Renaissance-era dress had been fairly easy to replicate, though the headdress had been giving her fits all night.

And that was about it for Guinan. Shaking her head at the announcer, she gave George Kirk a sad look. "Another time," she called out, nodding at her competition.

"Have fun with him," Guinan added, before turning to look at the rest of the people up for auction.

"Any other takers?" Ensign Nylen surveyed the crowd after Guinan bowed out, observing several heads bowed together. "Going once, going twice... sold!"

The first of the evening. Nylen grinned at Aurelan as she came up to claim her prize.

Sometimes, Aurelan thought, she was too soft-hearted for her own good. But tonight was all in fun, and she'd likely have made a straight-up donation to the rec department anyway. So she didn't think twice about offering her credit chip to the auctioneer, then instructing that George was to do Guinan's bidding for the evening.

Giving the other woman a friendly smile, she returned to her seat to decide how to allot the rest of her credits.
