Jun 06, 2010 18:00

As a reminder, this party will be like the V-Day orgy or Pirate Day event in that it’s IC, but does not affect the game. It’s just a chance for everyone to have a little fun and celebrate a very special day!Chris took a last look around his apartment, making sure everything was in place. He’d been out of town for the past week, so most of the day ( Read more... )

Em reached up and knocked on the old fashioned door. Who was she to turn down a party invitation? Especially from a fellow alum. She straightened her blue blouse and briefly wondered if anyone else she knew was going to be here.

Chris excused himself from his guests and went to answer the door. He grinned when he saw the pretty woman on his doorstep. Now that he'd seen them both in person, he could see the resemblance between her and McCoy.

"...Emma?"

She grinned at the young man. "Hey, honey! You must be...Chris, am I right? Either that or Jim's dyed his hair." Em held up the bottle. "Is it all right that I brought a 2222 Port? Would the birthday boy like it?" she asked.

He laughed as he ushered her inside. "That's right," he said with a grin. "Pleased to meet you."

Chris took the bottle from her with a broad smile, setting it on the table with the other gifts. "I'm pretty sure he'll love it," he assured her. "Come on in... I think you know most everyone here."

"Looks like Lenny's made it to the party and...I don't think I've ever seen Commander Spock in such casual clothing. Baby, how'd you manage to do that?" she asked. "Oh...wait, no, he doesn't have those pointy little ears."

"I wish I could take credit for that," Chris chuckled. "That's Zach... he played Spock in the movie."

"Can I get you anything?" he asked. "Something to drink?"

"Aw, thanks but no thanks, honey, I'm gonna try to stay dry for once. Now you and I gotta talk about this movie. I'm curious to see what it says about everyone." she laughed. "So what got you into acting, if I dare ask?"

"Um... from what I've heard, it's pretty true to life," Chris began. He did own a copy, but had never been all that comfortable watching himself onscreen. Still, if anyone wanted to watch it later, he decided it would be rude to object.

"I guess you could say I came by it honestly," he laughed. "My parents both act - well, my mom did. She's a psychologist now."

"Think you might pull the movie out later? All I've got to go on Lenny's life in Starfleet are those reports from the news. I'm sure there's more to it than instantly becoming Chief Medical Officer." Em easily laughed along with him. "Really? Any plans of going into psychology when you're done with acting?"

"I don't know... do you think that would be weird for everyone, seeing it?" he asked, chewing his lip thoughtfully.

His expression cleared. "Who, me, a psychologist? It's not something I've ever really considered." Chris grinned. "Fighter pilot, now that's something I thought about doing when I was a kid."

"I'm sure you all did a fine job, honey. But...if what happened in the movie is similar to what happened in our lives then...maybe it's best not to. Might trigger something for the boys." Em conceded.

She laughed. "A fighter pilot?"

"Yeah," Chris laughed. "There was this movie when I was a kid, about Navy fighter pilots. Looked like the coolest job ever."

He looked at her curiously. "So you went to Berkeley, too. What did you study?"

She shook her head. "Boys and their movies. I swear, I couldn't pry Lenny away from Captain Blasto if I had the jaws of life in my hands."

Em grinned. "Bio-engineering. How 'bout yourself? Theatre?"

"Captain Blasto?" Chris chuckled. "Sounds like some of the cartoons I used to watch when I was little."

"English, actually," he told her. "And bio-engineering... wow. What exactly do you do?

"We spoiled that kid. Hell, I was convinced that he wanted to be a pilot. But as it is, McCoys are doctors, not anything else." she laughed.

"Aw, baby, I don't do much of anything these days. Like a...post mortem retirement sort of deal. But I was the forensic anthropologist for the state of Georgia, Florida, and Texas for a while. Then I taught. So Lenny's been around bones for a while. Why'd you major in English? did you want to write? Teach?"
