So, things have been drifting along for me. I have had to very good job prospects that went nowhere. Disappointing but not surprising. When you are applying for jobs that you only have 'related' experience for, you need to be the only person that applied. Or possibly be related to the hiring manager. As well as an interview goes, if the next applicant has 'actual' experience, you're toast.
I have had to make some decisions. I am faced with sucking it up and getting some crap temp job and hating life in general, but being able to afford the bar tab that would be required. (Downward spiral, maybe? ;) OR I can quit being a wuss and actually be an artist. So...
New plan: 1.Get job at art supply store. (Applying at Meininger's this afternoon, they are hiring)
2. Utilize discount on art supplies and paint every day. Not just hang out and paint a little but actually work at it and paint.
3. Start shopping galleries with a purpose of finding the ones that fit my style of art.
4. Finish 30 paintings that I consider sales worthy.
Luckily, I have an incredible wife that is willing and happy to support me in this endeavor. During a discussion of this, I accused her of not being supportive so far. She responded with, "Well, you have to actually DO something, so I can be supportive of it."
My wife kicks ass.
As of right now, I am doing something. Well, when I stop typing this, anyway.
