I guess March went by without a post.  But things have been good.

Construction finally is done (?), pending the last items that Angie will report to the contractor.  They pretty much finished up on Friday and this weekend has been LOTS of cleaning.  And by cleaning, its been hardcore cleaning where we basically had our living area of our home slowly reduce as construction has been going on.  And the areas of construction were really dirty (as you imagine a construction zone will be).  So we basically, cleaned/dusted/wiped every item and moved them into clean areas which were slowly swept/vacuumed then mopped.  So it's lots of work, lots of moving, and lots of rearranging, but it's really nice to see the positives.

Oh, we also had a flood because they washer was supposed to be installed, but when it was draining, it flooded the room (so at least our mopping started early).  Apparently, it was plugged in the utility room for some reason.  But it's great to have a working washer and dryer again!

Craziness happened on Good Friday!

We went to have a family lunch with Angie's side to her sister's house.  At some point, during dessert, there was a random sketchy person who walked up to the window (of the living room) and tried to look in.  So Tim (brother-in-law) went out to ask what's up.  I assumed he was some super unprofessional/confused salesperson since he was carrying a tablet.  After lots of gesturing, Tim came back very angry and told Julie (his wife) to call the police.  Then he went back out to keep an eye on the guy/argue more?  Then that guy wouldn't leave and even wandered into their backyard!  So that prompted another call to the cops and that guy didn't even leave when the cops arrived!

After lots of confusion, one of the cops came into the house and stated that the guy is saying that he's here to see "Katie" and rescue her because she's being held against her will.  The cop made sure we didn't know him, didn't know "Katie", and then went back outside to talk to the crazy guy (who eventually was put into the patrol car).  An ambulance came by and talked to the guy (evaluate sanity?).  And then the cops eventually 'cuff him because apparently that guy's done something similar to other houses.

So its was interesting, but actually pretty scary when you think of it.  When he was going to the backyard, there was the fear that a door was open and he'd get it.  And luckily there was a family event because it'd be really scary if it was just the kids at home, or if it was only one parent.  Since there was a group of us, someone could call the cops, someone else was filming him, and Tim was talking and keeping an eye on him.  Crazy!

In other news, after work football (soccer) is back!  There was a poll for last week (Wednesday or Thursday).  I chose Wednesday since it was supposed to rain on Thursday.  Of course, it was drizzling on Wednesday and Thursday was warm and sunny.  But it was fun to play again.  Actually lots of the same people from last year.  And I wasn't crippled after playing (pretty sure for a day or two though).  But it was good.

I ordered a set of brakes, rotors, and sensors for my Mini.  There was a "change brakes" warning that came up a few weeks/month ago.  It felt super early (would only be like 25k miles), but people seem to think that's not unreasonably these days.  I checked the actual pad thickness and it does seem like it could go for another 5-10k miles easy, but I figure I'll change it since the sensor went off.  But that's been deprioritized since house cleaning is more important.  I would also like to thoroughly wash Poppy (my Mini) when I get a chance since it's been a long (not cold, lonely) winter.

On the entertainment side, after finishing The Silmarillion (re-read), I read Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.  The Silmarillion was to cleanse my brain of Amazon's Rings of Power.  I think every time I read anything about Galadriel, it was like eye-rolling to think of Rings of Power.  But it was good to re-read, although I do find the later parts less interesting, maybe because I'm less interested in the human stories.

Planet Hulk was really good though.  It was a different Hulk (less stupid), but I really enjoyed the Princess of Mars/planetary romance vibe.  And by planetary romance, I mean the genre, not the actual romance, which I didn't love.  War World Hulk was less good, and basically just another excuse for heroes to fight.  Although since I do dislike Mr. Fantastic and Doctor Strange, it was really nice to see them beat up and such.

I'm not sure what I'll read next, especially since the library is still out of commission, although it should be accessible soon.
