Superblown?

Well, the Superbowl didn't go as planned, although not totally unexpected (Good can't always triumph). The way that Atlanta lost was fairly surprising, but in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't too bad. Instead of an obviously bad singular reason, it was just a bunch of several things, most of which can be explained. First of all, Kyle Shanehan didn't have a good game. The Patriots defense obviously lived up to their billing, but there were several fairly questionable calls, especially in a situation where you're up and primarily fighting the clock. But its hard to question every playcall since Atlanta had plenty of opportunities to ice the game. An ill timed sack (on a bizarrely deep drop) where Freeman whiffed and Ryan should have gotten rid of it wasn't even the deciding play. There had to be a holding on the next play to knock them out of field goal range. There was also the other sack which gave the Pats life since it lead to a fumble. It was a third and one, and they didn't choose to run it with their very successful running game. There's also the bad use of timeouts since they had none to stop the clock at the end of the game. Again, I think each of these cases could have been explained, but its the sign of a team with an inexperienced head coach and its just not winning football. I was going to make a comment about the timeouts as they occurred, but I thought it was just being picky since Atlanta was still dominating at the time. And this is all without taking about the defense giving up however many points with two 2-point conversions.

And this isn't sour grapes, since I'll assume that ATL would have still lost if they won the coin toss, but they really need to fix NFL OT. I really don't understand why its so hard to just play another period. Like seriously. I routinely complain about it EVERY TIME it happens in a game that I watch. NFL OT is just so stupid. JUST PLAY ANOTHER PERIOD! Its not very difficult.

But, this gives me the "opportunity" to try to get a defunct Atlanta Superbowl Champs t-shirt. I've always wanted a "wrong side" championship t-shirt/cap/something. I really wanted to get one last time ATL lost the Superbowl, but I guess the internet wasn't as good then. So I'll see if I can get one this time.

Non NFL related stuff
I've been playing plenty of Final Fantasy XIII (Saturday was SUPER lazy). I'm pretty much at the end of the game and doing the hunts. I'll keep doing them until they get too tedious or too annoying. I'll see if I can do them all, if not, no biggie. I'll probably try to 5 star the end boss too since that might give me a Lightning theme and that's preferable to Sazh.

I also plan to check out that new 24 series. I've never watched the original, but the previews for this look okay. So I'll probably watch the first few episodes and see if its okay. It'll be good to have a new series to watch since I feel like I've been cutting lots of shows without adding new ones to replace them.

This weekend, we're going to see Sunset Boulevard, which is a delayed birthday present for Angie. I know nothing about it except Glenn Close is in it and its about an aging star. But it'll be nice to check out, although its also such a hassle to go to NYC. "Greatest city in the world" and its terrible public transit system, roads, and pretty much everything. Ugh.

Oh, my car is also having issues starting. This weekend, I saw there was tons of corrosion/buildup on the battery connectors. So I cleaned them on Saturday and thought it'd be okay. This morning, it started but when I was getting gas, it had issues. I was going to push it to a parking spot and ask random people for a jump, but luckily, I tried it again and it started. I suspect its the actual connectors, but who knows. So I'll see if I can get home without incident.
