Apparently Jim Kelly is going to give a talk at my work this month. He's just talking about head and neck cancer (instead of football), but I'll probably try to see if I can check that out. (Jim Kelly is a Hall of Fame quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.) So I guess random people speaking is one of the benefits of my job.
In other news, we received three meals from Hello Fresh. I think Angie normally picks specific ones or tells them "no" each month, but forgot this month. But to our surprise they seemed like decent enough meals. Yesterday, I made shrimp tacos. It was quite fast and easy.

As you can see from this picture, there was a little sticker that said "Make First". So I listened to the soul corporation and made this meal first. In the box, there was carrots, cilantro, cabbage, a lime, some tortillas, and some spices. So it seemed extra easy. (

Since I started before Angie got home and we normally walk Alfie when she gets home, I decided to start with the shrimp instead of the vegetables in case they'd get less fresh from sitting in juices for an hour or something. So this is mainly just shrimp, cornstarch, and mysterious "blackening sauce". The blackening sauce seemed like a mix of spices which was curry colored. (

This is a surprisingly bad picture of the vegetable parts after the walk. I started by mixing the carrots and cabbage and adding dry ingredients which were more "blackening sauce", salt, pepper, and sugar. After the walk, I added lime juice, mayo, and white wine. (

Angie fried the shrimp; it smelled pretty good. (

The tortillas were heated up and the tacos were assembled. This is mine with cilantro and lime juice. Also pictured is a margarita for theme purposes.(

Angie's, which had no cilantro or extra lime juice. (

In other news, apparently Trump had a meeting with an anti-vaccine advocate. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since he probably wants to monopolize all the crazies, but that's fairly scary. Apparently he believes in some sort of vaccine/autism link, which again shouldn't surprise me but I found that pretty surprising. Of course, my brother (Trump supporter) dismissed it because he "probably doesn't want to stop vaccinations", but why even legitimize such a crazy person? Like would you have a meeting with someone who strongly pushes that the moon landing was fake (that was the first thing that came to my mind)? And I get that politicians know pretty much nothing about anything, especially science, but this is a new level. Whatever, at least we'll get four years of Mike Pence valiantly defending Trump and that's fairly amusing.
boring talk about crazy friends/family which probably is uninteresting if you don't know them
I was also going to see Mark and Beast's opinion on the matter and I realized that the Trump supporters that I know in real life all voted for Obama (at least the first time). And thinking about it, all three of them are very strong, but fickle in their opinions. Mark and Beast were definitely bleeding heart liberals not too long ago, although I'm sure they'll pretend they weren't. I guess they're also all fairly angry people in general. Mark's definitely a core Trump demographic as he lives not on the coasts and he's an uneducated, poor white male. Beast is the same minus the fact that he lives in super liberal Boston. (Steve and I believe his new found super conservativism is based on the fact that he's always anti the opinion of where he lives. He was super liberal in a much more rural area and now super conservative in a much more liberal city.) Now, Howie is the weirdest one since he's not white, poor, or uneducated. Although he's fairly sexist and very angry at random things. But his opinions are just bad sometimes. Like him and his wife are the only people I've ever talked to (who like super hero movies) that disliked Guardians of the Galaxy. But when everyone else talks about how great it was and funny parts, he'll chime in as if he liked it, but say he doesn't. Its very odd.
