On Saturday, Angie and I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service, which was very good. Its nice to have lighthearted R-rated action movies which don't take itself so seriously all the time, which seems like a genre which died but hopefully is slowly coming back. Like, I do enjoy serious movies, but there definitely needs to be a mix and more "fun" ones. But I do think the advertising for the movie wasn't very good since I wasn't interested in it from the trailers even though I like Matthew Vaugh. Luckily it had good word of mouth and reviews. So I'll add to that and would recommend Kingsman.

After the movie, we stopped off to spend some gift cards at Gamestop and pick up Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires. Originally, we were going to get it for the PS3 since that's what we have Dynasty Warriors 8 for. But the Gamestop didn't have the PS3 version (although the employee incorrectly claimed it was only for the PS4 and Xbox One). So we got it for the PS4, which is good to finally set it up, even though we had the PS4 since Christmas.

So we set up our PS4, which meant getting rid of the Xbox, which is okay since it failed to work properly when I was trying to play Fable on it several months ago. Plus the Xbox 360 allegedly can emulate most Xbox games. Although setting up the PS4, our amount of inputs came more into question. As of now, we'll have to switch our cable and PS4 since my (poor old) TV has only 1 HDMI slot. So I'll want to get either a new TV (with many slots) or another splitter for the HDMI. Maybe I should get a new TV since they're cheap, especially since I'll only want 1080p (no stupid 4k, 3D, or smart options) with lots of inputs at whatever size makes sense. The major thing stopping me is not knowing what to do with one of our old TVs since we have a TV in both rooms which we'd watch television. It'll be nice to have a better TV, but the waste of it makes it seem less attractive. Maybe I'll research splitters and TVs or something later.

Anyway, Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires was at first quite confusing and annoying since local co-op is not very straightforward. And local co-op is pretty much the #1 reason we buy the Dynasty Warriors games. We couldn't figure it out but after finding and looking through the virtual manual (since the physical manual is useless), I found how to do it. But oddly, there are some battles that you can have as co-op, but other ones, which aren't that different, that cannot be co-op. So that's very odd. Anyway, Angie had to play for about an hour before we could play co-op, but once we got to the co-op parts, the game is pretty enjoyable. There are more tactics/building type activities, which is good. And our random losers can actually do stuff effectively. So overall, the game's been fun, although it oddly doesn't have an English track even though I'd imagine most the lines are similar to Dynasty Warriors 8, which had an English track. But I am interested to play more and try different things.

And I read this article about a really dumb ruling concerning "child neglect". Apparently, letting your children walk to and from a park without you is neglect now. The children were 6 and 10, which seem okay to me. That would be 1st grade and 4th grade or around there. I remember walking to school without an adult, with only children around my age when I was in kindergarten or first grade. Especially by 4th grade, you should be able to do stuff by yourself and supervise little children. Again, I think this is one of those stupid situations where you have to overly baby your children, which in the long run causes them to not learn to be real people. So I'm glad that we don't have kids since I wouldn't think twice about letting them do stuff on their own.
