How do you get over being snubbed for an invite to "friend's" holiday events?

Retail therapy!

I received a Dillard's gift card from my Aunt Becky at Christmas and have been looking for a reason to use it. At work today, the paper had an add stating that Dillard's was having a 30% off lowest marked price sale on everything in the store - SCHWING!

So, I am a long time therapeutical shopper. When I was a teen, buying clothes and such always made me feel SO much better in facing the shit that was my life at the time. This is a habit that I left behind after the intense therapy I went through back in my late 20's dealing with coming out, childhood sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse from Dad, religious abuse, etc (ad nauseum). However, with my mood of late, knowing I had a gift card and with Dillard's being less than 5 minutes from the house, I had to at least go browse.

Now, I am happy to be through with one gift card and happily in possession of a new pair of lovely plaid shorts, evidently all the rage (new smaller size!) and a knit polo style shirt in a slate/mauve color. Also in my return to size XL from a high of XXXL. Nothing makes me feel better than putting on clothes in a department store dressing room that I would not have been able to wear just a few months ago.

WOOHOO!

Now, it is off to Cedar Ridge to hike and melt off some more of this belly fat in the heat...
