Northwest Odyssey

So I am in Olympia, Washington.

It has been fantastic so far - my friend John opened up his beautiful Lacey, WA home to me where we are surrounded by gorgeous tall evergreen trees of some sort (he is unsure - PA native and a long-time Texan before moving out here a number of years ago). We drove up into the western Puget Sound area up US 101 toward Port Townsend along what is called the Hood Canal - absolutely gorgeous. However it was mixed-bag weather, so my photos are not as good so far as what I would like...

And one in color...

Tomorrow, I head down to the Portland area to stay a couple of days with online friends Scott and Greg. Greg is also a NC native (our common thread) and is an artist, primarily working now painting gorgeous scenes of the area there along the Columbia Gorge. Scott is coy about his work, but he is former military and travels a lot. They both are good guys and I am really looking forward to meeting them in person. PDX also means I am hopefully meeting up with badgerpdx for the first time while in the area. I am looking forward to the photography I will get to do over the next two days. I am actually bypassing Greg and Scott and heading to Multnomah Falls on Monday, then Tuesday heading to the Oregon coast for photos at Canon Beach. It will be a bit of a whirlwind there before I head back up to Seattle for the rest of the stay.

So far I have not cracked a book, but that will have to change tomorrow after I settle in at Greg and Scott's...

washington, phtography, friends, travel
