In Delaware, I have been staying with my friends Nick and Rick. Rick is a native of Baltimore and Nick is one of my long-time Dallas friends. They met over bigmusclebears.com and it went from there. They are one of the most loving (almost sickeningly loving) couples I know and have now been together 10 years and jointly own Rick's Fitness and Health in Milton. They are both car nuts (Nick was an auto mechanic in a past life) and between them own 10 sports cars including a Dodge Viper, Acura NSX, a Miata and various and sundry Corvettes and Camaros.
I got to ride the Viper - sort of like taking off in a rocket as we powered up to 90 mph in just a few seconds. Some photos...

I left Delaware for Maryland yesterday and drove to Fulton where I got to meet in person greatbearmd and his lovely partner Jeff. We spent a few hours getting to know one another and got along like a house afire as far as I am concerned. I will be back to Baltimore sooner than later.
Next time, I will likely not drive though. When I left Phil's I had an accident barely a mile away at a traffic circle. There were two lanes going in, and I was in the outer lane, I wanted to go around the circle to stop at a CVS to pick up some things. I did not realize until the last minute (it was dark, raining, and the signs were not clear at all) that my lane should go straight through rather than around, so I wound up getting hit by a 2001 Mercedes GLK350 SUV. He wound up with my paint all over his bumper where he scraped along the side of my car. Most of the damage was on my back door, though the entire driver's side is involved. We both have State Farm, and in MD, the insurance company decides fault, so they decided me since technically I made an incorrect turn. It sucks, but it is what it is. In Texas, it would have been considered no fault do the circumstances and no injury was involved. I am just glad the car is driveable and I can continue the trip, otherwise I would be in MD getting my car repaired instead of with my family in a couple of days. Sigh...
So, this evening I am supposed to have dinner with dewittar and fishfin then it is off to Durham tomorrow where I get to see dan4behr and bearzendurham, I am not going to let what happened last night spoil the remainder of this trip. To that, I just chatted up a hot daddy Irishman in the Starbucks I am at currently who was quite friendly. Former soccer player, gray hair, handsome, smiling face...
