That's The Ticket

Yes, I was wallowing in misery on Friday night after the bad news I received, and I still have a lot of shit I am dealing with, but one of my grandmothers had a saying that goes something like, "If life gives you shit, then flush it. Don't lay around in it like a pig."

Smart woman.

So yesterday morning, my buddy Scott posted on his Facebook that he and his partner were at Joe Pool Lake on their boat - just minutes from the house. So I replied something to the effect of, "You guys are just down the hill from me then." Scott messaged me to come meet them and I did not have to be asked twice. I headed over to the west side of the lake to the Oasis Marina, met up with Scott and Steve and we tooled around the lake in Steve's vintage ski boat, and they were kind enough to let me unload EVERYTHING that had been going on.

I think from now on, if I am going to do therapy, it needs to happen on a lake while enjoying the sun. Like many of you, their advice to me concerning UT Dallas was to see what I could find out about the defficiency(ies) and see what I can do to overcome them and become a candidate for acceptance - if I decide I do want to pursue this avenue further. However, the important thing to me was that they were willing to offer me their presence when I really needed a friend. One of the other things I have been discovering this past several months is who my true friends indeed are as opposed to those who say they are my friends.

And of course, I took a few photos...
