Facebook Flamewars Redux
So - I got my answer today.
After a few exchanges with Ixxxx yesterday explaining my position and that I was not going to choose sides between friends, he wound up sending me a last message that said, "OK - cool."
Tonight when I got home, I found he had defreinded me on Facebook and other social outlets where we had often chatted and sent me an email stating he had no room in his life for someone who was going to "display such a high level of disloyalty" toward him. Yes, after 10 years of friendship with this man and spending a several parts as a beacon of emotional and sometimes financial support, he has decided to drop me from his life.
I guess that even though I feel a good deal hurt about it, I do not need that kind of stress and drama in my life. I feel sad about it, but at the same time, I sort of feel like, "OK - sigh of relief" about it all.
Sunny loved me again tonight, so it is not all bad...
