So, five of the ducklings are still hanging in there, including a poor little black one that got sort of paralyzed. It still somehow walks more effectively than the original handicapped duckling, in that the black one hobbles but does not constantly fall over. Even though they are in no way my responsibility, I went down with little M today and fed them and changed their kiddie pool full of water. Now that they are no longer shitting all over the porch or dying, I am sort of into them again. It's pretty cute how they all huddle together when they are sleepy.
I only have two Mondays left with this family; I am doing a Nannycation in the Hamptons again mid-June, and then my girls are moving back to Massachusetts. In some serendipitous movement of the winds, my secondary family has asked me to do full-day Mondays with their two boys. I start in July. I will miss my little girls, but am looking forward to the new adventure. It is VERY lucky that it worked out so seamlessly; I can pay my bills without a babysitting gig on the side, but I wouldn't be doing much else.
I have been off added sugar for a week now and it is great! I've also started trying to cluster my carbs around my workouts, with less at other meals, and feel good about that approach. I am eating so many fruits and veggies it is nuts. I have come a real long way since the days when the Aimee Poulin Diet consisted of mountain dew, pizza, grilled cheese, and mac & cheese, and the Aimee Poulin Workout Plan consisted of chasing the 87 bus.
