Happy Easter!!
It is the time of the year when we celebrate the renewal of spiritual life. ;)
Of course the long holiday weekend which comes along helps to make this a memorable time. Heh.
I spent this Easter holiday with family in Dubai. It was an amazing trip. ^_^
The journey from Muscat to Dubai was five hours long and it was an enjoyable one mainly due to the presence of my cousins. We left Muscat on Wednesday at around 2 pm and arrived in Dubai around 7pm. We took some time to find the hotel apartment we had booked. The hotel apartment was complete with a kitchen, living room, toilet and bed room. It was a good apartment and the location was right at the centre of Dubai. After which we met up with some family friends and went for dinner at a nearby mall called Bur Jaman. There I had some Japanese food (grilled Prawns and Chicken Teriyaki) which was good. After dinner we got home and immediately went out to watch the football match in the traditional place. ^_^;; It was a challenge to find a place to watch, although after 20 mins of asking people, walking around, etc. we got there. My team won the Champions League match and it was a perfect ending to the day.
The next day, I went to a water park called Atlantis which is located at the foot of the palm islands (the reclaimed land on which the famous palm resorts are built). Atlantis was really loads of fun where for the first time I went on White Water Rapids, Twisting Slides, Giant Slides, Slides through an Aquarium, Slides where I literally flew XD, etc. all on a comfy inflatable ride. I spent the whole day in the Water Park and it was worth it. Definitely Atlantis is one of the best Water Park's in the world. ;)
On the final day in Dubai I went to the Dubai mall (supposedly the world's largest). There was an amazing Aquarium with all sorts of sea life. In addition there was a good ice skating ring. The mall was massive. However, it may not be the best place to shop at the moment because some shops are not yet open. Although when all the shops do finally open the Dubai mall will probably become the best place to shop in Dubai. :)
After the Dubai mall visit I went to Church with my family to pray because it was Good Friday. There was a weird occurrence when we went into church, there was a mass for Arabic people about to begin so some people at the entrance were not allowing us to enter in order to prevent the church from filling up. Preventing people from entering is against all that the Church stands for. *sigh* Anyway in the end we pushed our way through, prayed, lodged complaints to officials of the church and got back home (one of my relatives places) to have a vegetarian traditional dinner. Before and after dinner we played cards, classic family game. We finished up in the wee hours of the morning got back home to get some sleep before heading off back to Muscat in the morning.
On Saturday I arrived back home. It was a five hour journey back. Slept all the way. Heh.
Overall it was an amazing trip and probably one of the best Easter holidays to date. ^_^
