Catchin' up...

So, I realized that I never wrote about when Chrissy and Sarah came.  It's not that big of a deal, except it just really left an awesome impression on me...

We met Chrissy and Sarah on our spring break mission trip to Tennessee Mountain T.O.P.  They were with a group from the Wesley Foundation at Purdue University in Indiana.  Chrissy was in my MPT (Mission Production Team) and she slept in the bunk about me.  Sarah slept in the bunk above Mary.  Since there was a small group, we all got to know each other actually pretty well.  It was very cool.  But Mary and I became especially good friends with Chrissy and Sarah.  It was one of those connections that's more than "Hey, we came to the same place for spring break..."  It was a spiritual bond that we formed.  So when we left, it was kind of sad.  We e-mailed each other back and forth, saying we love, we miss you, etc.  You know, usually when you meet someone on a trip like that, you do keep in touch for a little while afterwards, but sooner or later, you don't see them, and you just lose that connection you had.  Well, somehow, the four of us made such an impact on each other...About a month later, Chrissy and Sarah announced that they were road-tripping to Arkansas to see us.  Mary and I were soooo excited...how cool was that?  They must really like us to drive 12 hours just to spend almost 2 days with us...

But then I was a little nervous...I started wondering what it would be like when they came.  Would we still have anything in common?  Would they still like Mary and I, even away from the Mountain T.O.P. environment?  I admit that I was somewhat worried.

So here's the clencher--it was so awesome.  They showed up at our dorm Friday afternoon and we gave each other the biggest hugs...then we just seemed to warm right back up to where we left off.  Ok, yes, I was surprised...but not.  It's just amazing that we can be so far away from each other, yet still have that friendship.  Something like that is only from God.

I just wanted to share that experience.  It warmed my heart so much and gave me great hope.

Here's our MPT...there's Chrissy, Taylor, and me.

Chrissy petting the TECH cows...she and Sarah couldn't believe how close the cows are to our campus...yes, they're right across the street from my dorm, and yes, I wake up to "moo!" every morning...

I am so happy that they came to visit us.  I can't wait to go to Indiana!  I love you Chrissy and Sarah!
