Today, I finished learning the hiragana and katakana I didn't know (alot.) Now I can read signs and it some what makes sense!
Nothing cool going on here, just trying to get my minimal japanese skills up a notch or two.
Tonight the aikido 'community' is having a party at a bar in the red light district. I think this means no students. So it will be a good chance for me to continue to hone my "gomen nasai, wakarimasen." Baka ni! Maybe I will get some pictures.
These are photos of the bedroom and the futon. There are quite different then american futons..
If you cannot tell, the futon is around and inch and a half thick. I am not for sure what the material is, I think it is a thick foam. The futon is actually quite comfortable, except my feet usually end up on the tatami as I am somewhat tall. The bedroom 6 tatami large, 1 tatami is around 3ft x 6ft. This makes the bedroom about 9ft x 12ft. This is actually the largest of the rooms. I think it was actually meant to be used as a dining room, but the a/c / heater is in this room and that is where we will sleep.
