Notice there’s always no update of blog/journal during weekend for me. Because I don’t go home during weekend. Yes, I stay on the street in the night looking out for prey that I can shoot dead. (Ok, I’m joking about the shooting part. So don’t connect me to any murder that occurred during the weekend. )
The weekend started early since Friday was a holiday. Localized was good. Photo post coming real soon. And one thing I have to say: ANGELA FLAME IS MAD!! If you are not there (Or if you are not into TECHNO) you have no idea how hard she played that night. Her set can keep the most hardcore German technohead running for cover. Ya, she’s lazy for a techno DJ, not much knobs twitching and deck wonders, but having been starved of Techno for months, it served as an aural orgasm for this technohead. And I have to mention that KE - the premium Techno event lead by our own techno god Jonathon Yo, is rumored to be making a come back real soon.
It’s a wonder how a genre of music can be totally wiped out from the local club scene when the DJ that pioneered this sound at Zouk dance floor was suddenly removed from grace. Back then, Jonathan's techno night was packed to the full, with so many self-proclaiming techno fans around. Once he was no longer with Zouk, all of a sudden no body listens to techno any more. ( Hey , I ‘m not quoting any Eminem’s song. I hate that mutherfucker so no way.) And the same group of people was like saying how good is Aldrin’s One night, which took over. Of course I am not saying Aldrin’s music is not as good a Jonathan’s. In fact I sometime like Aldrin’s House affair, and the gays loved his music. I was taught that if the gays like it, it must be good. How true is that statement I have no idea, but that’s not the point. The point is how a single man or a single club dominated the music taste of a nation’s dance generation, or should I say how a nation’s dance generation let a single man or a single club tell them what is good music has always been interesting. But being a true blue Singaporean myself, I totally understand the phenomenal. At the end of the day, we only need one media and one-party government, so having one DJ and one club is totally reasonable and understandable, right kiddo?? And why the fuck do you have to stress over this? Clubbing is suppose to be fun la, why worry about understand the music or not, you xiao huh? Want to study music go join SAE or something loh.

Went to Tony’s wedding dinner last night. A simple but nice wedding dinner, but of course the unavoidable “Standard” procedure of a typical Chinese wedding dinner: Grand entrance of the Bride and Groom, the “Yum Seng” section blah blah. Even a hip DJ of the biggest club in town can’t escape the standard lah. At least Tony was innovative enough as he remixed a Kitaro track into a breakbeats mix for his Grand entrance theme kekekeke …
Kevin and May were there too and they told us they are looking for a house around my area.
“A house around Ting Bahru or Redhill? Difficult lah, no landed property here.” I told them
“ We are actually looking for a flat. “
Looked at them blankly….
“ A three room flat … “
Stared at them blankly again.
Then something hit me.
“ Oh, a flat! You mean the hole in the sky! Ok … that’s not too hard.”
“ What do you mean the hole in the sky??? “
“Ya , it’s a hole in the sky wat. People call it pigeon hole, you don’t know meh?”
They burst out laughing. What so funny huh?? Most of us Singaporean live in pigeon hole wat.
And the conversation continue with me explaining to them the property price difference between getting a HOLE in the city as compare to those HOLE in area such as Woodlands or Sengkang etc ( Like I expert property agent like dat. But having moved HOLE for 6 times in my life, I think quite qualified to give advice lah.)
Which make me wonder (actually I have been wondering for a long time already): how can the same thing cost so much different just because it’s in a different location?? A HOLE in my area will cost almost double of that in Woodlands or Pasir Ris. A can of beer cost only less than S$1 in China when we have to pay almost S$4 here in Singapore… Supply and demand ??? Yeah right. Somebody will start telling me about the different standard of living. So we are more “Standard” than people, say in China??? And the people in U$A enjoy cheaper beer too so we more “standard” than the American lah?? That can’t be right. And no this isn’t about the demand for cheaper beer you stupid monkey. It’s about the nonsensical system of ECONMIC that human being have set up for themselves.
But wait! What the fuck am I doing??? Not suppose to talk about anything THAT serious here in this blog lah! Oops, nearly forgot.
