When we talk to children, we alter our speaking voices to censor out the negativity and only display the positive. As children, we all need a filtered reality… but how do you know when to turn the censors off? There are times when I need the censors, or would feel much more comfortable with a diluted reality. True, “Life isn’t fair” but why must we go around with such a negative outlook? I’m not saying that being phony and perky is a good thing either, but positive thinking never hurt anyone… and if it did, what did they do to deserve it?
In my experiences, Karma does exist and what goes around comes around… but there are certainly instances where Karma does not apply. I don’t always understand the reason why things happen, but you need to develop answers that you can swallow in order to have some sense of balance. The truth isn’t always obvious, but if you can create truth that you can accept then why not do it? More over, what about being thankful for the things we have? Maybe, it’s just the holiday’s talking through me, but there is definitely something there. Too many times we, myself included, take what we have for granted, but how would we be if we actually accepted the things we had, were thankful for them, and moved on to trying to achieve other things? Would the world fall apart?
Would we actually be happy?
OR Would we be settling?
This Christmas, let’s be thankful… but use our gratefulness in order to achieve more and never settle for less than greatness.
