"We recognize and respect one another; we have a good sense of each other’s space.”
I think from way back KAT-TUN is a group that has had a very good sense of each other’s space. But it’s not like we try to consciously get along or push it by trying to fit each other. Also we don’t interfere with each other, but we properly recognize and respect one another. When it comes time for a live (session), each and every person shows his own special abilities, then as one we charge through with a passion that says “I want to create something good!” After the “~CHAIN” tour ended, I realized that it would change again. So that’s why the current KAT-TUN is really great! I feel like now more than ever everyone is positively looking ahead.
To me when it comes to our group members… I think it’s a bond that can’t be put into words. This is because we’ve been together through many years of joy and sorrow. Lately, KAT-TUN has been told a lot that our image has changed. When we debuted, it seems like we had a pretty strong impression of being flashy and rebellious or something. Of course, it was a part of the image that we were pushing at that time. But, it seems that the other parts have managed to break through. To be honest, there isn’t anything about us that has changed *smile*. But I’m happy about that. We can’t continue to move on with the same image because more than anything we want to show people our many sides.
“I want to compete with a side that no other Sempai (Senior member) has yet displayed.”
From now on, I want more people to know who KAT-TUN is; even if it’s just one of us I want someone to do a live performance. Besides before debuting KAT-TUN has had the experience of not wanting to lose to other groups when it comes to a performing live. Before our debut in one year we did many live performances, we once tried doing 11 performances in one day. Those days we didn’t know much but we just had energy. That’s youth for you *smile*.
Since I think that in each of our activities we’ll have big opportunities to participate in live performances, we have to cherish that. In reality, I’m now going to appear in “Shuichi” (Sunday Countdown Show), I feel like we’ve been acknowledged by an older more experienced group of people. Now we’ve changed into it being okay for Ojisan’s (older men) to ask us “Are you okay?” *smile* (said in a youthful slang way). And because of Kame’s drama, “Yokai Ningen Bem” small kids know who we are now too, it’s great that now due to everyone’s various activities that we have the chance for an older crowd, who until now hasn’t had interest in us, to now know who we are. Also like many Senpai (Senior) members of JE, we’ll compete with a side that no other Sempai (Senior) has yet displayed. It would be nice for KAT-TUN to have lots of people cheering for us. I think that is the goal, now.
My Recent News
- Herb tea, from a homegrown herb.
The other day, I received a herb seedling from Inohara-kun (from V6). I will try to do my best to keep raising it, because I’m thinking that, “I want to drink herb tea!” From now on I’m really looking forward to it!

-There’s a mountain of clothing hanging on my total fitness exercise machine.
Since a fairly long time ago I’ve been hanging my clothes on my total fitness exercise machine. So I’m always forcibly working out with a mountain of clothing hanging on it. Isn’t that wild~ *smile*.
