Okay. So, yesterday I went fishing with my Dad and my two brothers. We left our house at around 6:30... in the evening... and got to the fishing pier at around 9:40. We fished 'til 11:30. Of all of us, only two people caught anything of significance: me and my brother David. David caught a fish - this puny little thing that was 'bout 6 inches, give or take. I caught a Squishy - some part of a jellyfish that was vaguely shaped like a giant sperm. I wanted to take a picture, but the digital camera that Dad brought along had no working battery, so we had to toss it. Dad informed us on our way back that our Grandma and Grandpa (on my Dad's side, of course) had gone fishing at that same spot earlier this summer and caught over 120 Bluefish that had been passing through at the time. GAH!
On our way back we went to a 7-11 and picked up some snacks. I got a King Cone ice cream thingy, my youngest brother Joshua got Dipps, David got... Beef Jerky (I think), and my Dad got coffee because he was the one driving us home. So, we were actually on our way home at around 11:50, and didn't arrive there until 2:30. In the morning. I went straight to bed, despite the fact that my hands still smelled vaguely like Squishy.
I had a dream. I vaguely recall that it was about a superhero... a fake superhero. Or something. A fake superhero that was hiding out at a mall. In Colorado. (Oh gawd, Dead Rising.) Then I woke up because I move in my sleep and I'd somehow kicked off ALL my blankets in the night. I pulled them up and went back to slee- no, I didn't. Because Lee had the nerve to call me at nine in the morning, asking if I could come over and hang out with him and Dwight. I politely refuse, and THEN I went back to sleep - I don't wake up again until two in the afternoon.
---
So, today, I woke up at two in the afternoon. I grab my glasses, and trudge to my Laptop - it's still in stand-by mode, which I had left it in before I went fishing last night. I open my laptop, key in the password, and Mitsuke-kun's bright screen flashes me with Internet Explorer and PhotoShop 7.0. I check my webcomics (a list of which I'll put up Ay-Ess-Ay-Pee), and check my list of Web Artists, then I check the two newest forums I've joined. Oh, hey, someone wants to know where my avatar came from - I think I'll open up that file and--
Hupp, my Dad is calling - apparently all my computer antics have taken up an hour and it's already 3:00 and I should be getting ready to go out so I should take a shower already and get moving!
So I do so.
Then, after a quick brunch of boiled dumplings (bleah), Dad and I got out shopping for last-minute school supplies. The Post-It I put my shopping list on kind of likes look this:
- Headphones
- Bowl Ramen/Instant Rice
- Calculator
- Shirts
- Umbrella
- Mini-Wok*
* = Yes, a Mini-Wok -- how else am I supposed to fry my rice properly? Also, we got a set of extra-long cooking hashi (chopsticks) so that I can stir the rice without scalding myself on the wok.
The trip was pretty simple: go to GrandMart for the Ramen, Mini-Wok and Hashi, then go to ROSS for the shirts, then go to Marshall's for the Umbrella. Headphones we're picking up at RadioShack tomorrow, and I don't really need the calculator after all.
Oh, and right after we finished, Lee called again - turned out he had a parting gift for me. *grumble grumble* So I grabbed my car again, and headed out to IHOP, because he's still on his shift. I get there, and Lee hands me a Starbucks bag -- 'turns out he got me a French Press coffee maker - you just put in the beans, the hot water, let it steep, then push down on the mechanism and ja-jaan: fresh coffee for the tasting. He, Redd, and Zippy have all been plotting to get me on of these since Zippy came up here in May. Ugh. Oh well - like Lee said: "It's shiny."
Oh, and we went out for sushi. I stuffed myself on the sashimi - the slices of raw fish by themselves. It was yummy. Too bad the Squid was cut up into such small strips, though - I could barely taste it. Ah, well.
