Log Entry: Boar.. it's what's for dinner!
WHO: Sanji, Luffy, Nami
WHERE: The Grand Line (a fall season island)
The Straw Hats are enjoying the season on a fall island. The threat of a Marine base is close by but that won't ruin the fun! Or then again, it'll at least ruin dinner.

Luffy: Or, well, about fifty armed friends in white outfits ready to take the three in!
Nami: Twitch, Twitch. Of all the leaf piles in all the world, he had to jump into the one she was sitting near!
Sanji: Sanji clasps his hands together with hearts in his eyes and wobbles back and forth at the praise. "Nami-san is the one who's wonderful!!"
Another random island on the Grand Line, and it's cause for festivity!..
Okay, no it's not. This island has fall weather, and everything is in oranges and reds that is generally leafy and green. Brisk, cool winds are always blowing, and there's lots of leaf piles everywhere to dive into. The island seems like a slow little island, with a main village, but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately, there's also a minor Marine HQ here, too, so the Straw Hats need to lay low. Atleast, the more famous ones.
But that doesn't stop Luffy from diving into piles of leaves left around from the clean-up efforts of the villagers! They haven't come to plunder their booty, and destroy their village - they've come to dive into leafy piles! "Woohoooo!"
Aaah~ Fall weather is so romantic! With the color changing leaves and the serenity of the seaons. All those colors drifting down around them. They make Nami-san look so enchanting! Then again she looks good in the snow too. And surrounded in spring flowers. And in her summer bikini top. He hopes summer comes soon. But anyway! Where is that girl? Sanji finds Luffy first and watches as the captain is jumping into piles of leaves like a little kid. There's a smirk around the cigarette in his mouth. "Oi Luffy, you're making a mess." If Usopp were here there'd be two kids romping in the leaves. With Chopper that'd make three.
But so long as they're playing here and not where the Marines can find them everything should be fine. This is a nice island, and Sanji doesn't want to get kicked off so quickly. Mostly because they could probably do a little hunting here. There may be some game to catch and cook up for a nice fall dinner.
As for where Nami is? You might want to check that smaller pile of leaves that sprayed up from when Luffy leaped into that slightly larger pile of leaves. The small pile of leaves -- IS MOVING! AAAAAAAAAAAH IT's moviiiiiiiing!
Actually a hand just reaches out of the pile and starts brushing leaves away, revealing everyone's favorite navigator, who had been sitting beneath a tree and jotting notes down in her journal. With a few leaves still scattered around her, in her hair and clothing, the redhead casts QUITE the irritated glance towards Luffy. "........." Twitch, Twitch. Of all the leaf piles in all the world, he had to jump into the one she was sitting near!
Luffy's head pokes out of the pile of orange, red and brown leaves with a grin, and he turns to look back towards Nami. "Oh, hey, Nami! Sanji!" He regards his navigator and cook respectively, and leaps up out of the leafy pile. Of course, that means that Nami is covered in leaves. Again. "That was fun!" He grins. He wishes Chopper and Usopp were here to share the leaves. And the magical bullshit stopping punch he's likely about to receive from Nami.
"When's dinner?" Luffy inquires as he sidles up with his cook. Gwahaha. That fall dinner is sounding mighty good about now..
"Baka! Don't cover Nami-san in leaves!" How's he supposed to see her if she's under that pile! Sanji lifts his right leg to try and bop Luffy in the side of the head with his shoe. *bopbop* Though she does look awfully cute swimming amongst those fall colors. *_*
"Dinner?" Well of course he's been thinking about it. He always is. "Dinner is when you catch it. There are probably some wild boars living in these woods." And they'll be big and fat by now, since it's nearing the winter time. "You'd better bring back a couple." Otherwise no one will get to eat except for Luffy. If he's going to cook then Luffy can help out instead of playing around! "Is there anything special you'd like for dinner tonight, Nami-swan?"
AUGH! More leaves! Damn that Luffy D: There's the soft *paff* of her book closing, a shuff of clothing when it's slid into a pocket in her pants. Woe to Sanji, the cooler weather means Nami has to wear long sleeved shirts and pants, rather than her usual - and preferred style of more revealing clothing. Nonetheless, shortly after the chef reprimands Luffy with a boot to the head, Nami follows it up by _WHACK_ing the Captain with a fist. "IDIOT!" What'd have to rebury her in leaves like that for? He knew she was sitting there!
And just as magical as her bullshit stopping punch, she sweetly turns to Sanji, "Ah, not really Sanji-kun! Everything you make is already so wonderful!" n.n
"Gack!"
It's a double whammy, and Luffy's lost the game. With swirls in his eyes, he apologizes. "Sorry, Nami.." Then, shakes his head. Okay, so they have to catch their food? Nothing makes food taste better than something that requires EFFORT! He takes off into the forest.. leaving chef and navigator alone for atleast a few minutes. It must be a blessing in disguise for Sanji!

While Sanji is doing his own version of the happyChopper dance, Nami has already turned and made her way towards her chair, "Don't you dare bring back any rats or frogs, Luffy!" Is her parting shot to the Captain. Maybe he'll find a bear or something. So long as he doesn't aggro it and come running back to camp. ._.;;
Brushing some leaves off of the chair, Nami reclaims her seat and looks up to Sanji, "Hm?" A small nod, "Aah, yeah, but I don't think there'll be a problem so long as we lay ....low.." her voice trails off at a sudden thought, and she glances in the direction Luffy ran. ... he /wouldn't/.
Oh, but he would! Luffy soon returns, carrying not one, but two boars. They're nice and fat, but as with all things, he's brought along a few friends to eat dinner with them!

"They found me when I was getting the second one!" Luffy calls out to navigator and cook as he makes his way towards the two as quickly as possible, grinning ear to ear.
Sanji smiles and waves his hands. "I'm sure that he wouldn't--" Well, no sooner said than done, he hears Luffy shouting and running and looks over, then drops his jaw wide. "EEHHH!?" Luffy!! What did he DO!
Let us rewind to five minutes prior...
SIGN: MARINE CAPTIAN'S LIVESTOCK. A small stockade surrounded by a fence with large boars inside. The one wearing the blue ribbon is said 'second one' Luffy was claiming as a Marine patrol officer walks by and stops mid-step. "Hey kid, what're you doing?"
Now let's return to the present...
Sanji whirls around but he's sure Nami is already waaay ahead of the game so he goes running after her. "YOU IDIOT!!"
OH.. CRAP. So much for a nice calm dinner! (But then, Nami hasn't had a /calm/ anything since she joined this crew!) "L..LUFFY!!" Nami sputters, somewhere between shock and outrage and the INCREASING DESIRE TO STRANGLE her Captain. She's going to KILL HIM! Not that fifty guards were any match for Luffy or Sanji, who could /easily/ take out that many in a matter of minutes - but that's besides the point.
They've already caused a ruckus just in alerting fifty soldiers; in a few minutes who knows how many might have heard and come to investigate! They could be swarmed to the point where even the Straw Hats would be taken in.
Sanji is quite astute, because right as he's drawing breath to reprimand Luffy, the navigator is already several feet away, sprinting as fast as her feet can take her. She swears if he's not getting lost, he's drawing the attention of marines, that Luffy! >:E
"I'm sorry, Nami, Sanji! I couldn't catch any boars, so I took some of theirs!" Luffy explains as he rushes to catch up. He's quick, even though he's carrying two heavy boars! But, now that the explanation was out, Nami might want to strangle him further. He turns around with a screech and brings an arm back. "Gomu Gomu no Bacon Shoot!" The boar in his dominant hand is tossed like a bowling ball towards the approaching marines.
Rrrrrrr..... STRIKE! The boar rumbles straight into the unassuming marines, who scatter like bowling pins!
Sanji is just a few steps behind Nami but he's looking over his shoulder to Luffy with the two boars. "Did you even LOOK in the forest?" He'll bet Luffy just grabbed the first meat he came across! And now they have to get chased by the marines again! Even if Luffy is the only one with a bounty here right now *grumble* it's still an inconvenience for everyone else too.
"Oi! Don't throw away our food!" One boar for their crew just won't be enough! Sure an animal of that size could easily feed a village. Or Luffy. But not both!
Some might have stayed around to make sure that the boys were right behind them! Nami however, is confident (yeah, we'll go with that) enough to think that they'd keep up with her - and she's right! A glance over both shoulders shows that the two were right behind her and - Luffy is throwing away their FOOD? "LUFFY!" Sanji is so on the ball, "IF you're going to beat up the marines, don't use the food we're going to eat as a weapon! Let's just hurry back to the Merry and get away from the island!"
"Sorry!" Luffy apologizes, and stretches to nab his boar. It recovers and squeals, trying to run, but he's not quick enough! YOINK! Luffy makes a run for it while the Marines try to recover.
"Let's get to Merry! But, aren't the others on the island still?" Oh, that's a good question. Luffy dashes to catch up again, boars trailing behind him. Suweee!
The marines are still chasing, shouting and waving their swords. There's more of them now too. "Wait! Come back, Straw Hat Luffy!" Now that they've realized who Luffy is they really won't give up so easily.
When Luffy points out that the others might be on the island it dawns on Sanji that might be right. "Shit!" Robin does like to explore and if she went Chopper probably went with her. If anyone's actually on the ship it's probably Zoro just because he's asleep. "Nami-san, can we lose them in the woods?" Sanji asks as his long legs help him to catch up with her.
Nami falls silent briefly at Luffy's question, and then glances forward, reaching up to push a low branch out of her way as she runs past. And then lets go to let it SNAP back. Duck or dodge, boys! "Usopp is probably still on the ship," Someone had to stay with it, after all. "Hopefully Robin and Chopper aren't too far either -" but there was a good chance that they were. Sanji's question is given thought, as she glances around, "It's not very dense in this part of the forest -- ah! There!" She points in a northwesterly direction, where the forest's getting a bit more wild and untamed, farther off the path. "We might be able to lose them in there. Luffy, Come on!" Of course, with their boar burden, it might make hiding a little tricky, especially if their dinner is noisy!
Luffy ducks! The boars aren't quite so lucky, but they're bulky, so they'll survive. Their dinner being noisy? Not a chance. The boars are out of commission; Luffy bopped them good before, and it doesn't help he's been dragging them on the ground for a while now! "Woohoo!" He calls, rushing after his chef and navigator. Better to run away! Naturally, he drags the boars along with him. He's not about to lose his dinner to persistant marines!
"You're brilliant, Nami~swaaan!" Sanji follows Nami into the more deeply wooded area. Let's just hope they don't encounter more problems here! Either way he wonders if they can really get away while Luffy is holding those boards. The marines can see those pretty much anywhere. o_o; But he has faith that Nami will find a way for them to escape. If they do lose the food they'll just have to get more later. Somehow they always manage to survive.
By sheer LUCK sometimes; some god must really like them. "Luffy! Don't drag them, you're making a trail that they can follow!" Are you TRYING to get them caught? "Sanji-kun, do you see those trees there? The ones the vines are hanging from?" Nami pauses in her talk to duck under another branch, stumbling briefly, though her steps slow once they're in the thicker forested area. "It's darker here so they'll have trouble seeing but.. just to be safe, we should pull those branches down to make cover." It'll have to do in the current situation.
"Okay!" Hoist! Luffy lifts them above his head and they.. well.. fit. Surprisingly. It's just him carrying two huge boars. Oi..
Indeed, there're plenty of branches and vines to use as cover. Luffy's clever, and so when he sets the boars down, he makes sure they're not easily noticable, before making his way back to help Nami and Sanji put up branches and vines. He's grinning all the while. It's the thrill of the chase, and they have to escape Marines. It's the only way, really. "Good thinking, Nami!"
