Peaceful moments

Well, here I am at my sister's in London again - this time as I have a course tonight in town. Actually its kinda nice here. Stinks is at work and Sandy is still in bed. Knowing Sandman its gonna be a good few hours yet before she's up so I can quietly sit at my sis's computer and browse with no worries in the world, which is very nice as I always seem to be busy in Edinburgh at the mo. Even if I don't have anything on I end up with my flatmates having a gossip in our newly communal kitchen and drinking wine like a fish.

Our work panto reached its triumphant conclusion on Friday and we rocked! The audience was totally into it and my mate Karen, who was in the audience, and some of the other 'stars' took some suitably embarrassing photos. Kelly has an awful one of me rolling on the floor flashing what was under my kilt (a pair of tartan PJ bottoms if you have to know!) to the world. The first time George fake hit me and I threw myself on the ground the audience actually gasped so it must've looked good! Afterwards we all went to the pub - about 30 of us - and had a few drinks and nachos. It was a hellva lota fun apart from one thing - one of the Division Heads who I shall call Mr Smarmy. The guy just cannot stop himself sleazing over any girl in a 10 yard radius. Being hit on by a guy whose kids are only a few years younger than me is sooooooo wrong. Apparently one of Kelly's mates won't come out on work nights out any more as he grabbed her one night and tried to snog her. Ergh. Fortunately I was surrounded by everyone else (thank you Ian!!!!) most the night and the only time he was able to sleaze at me was when I passed him at the bar. Kelly has already told him to 'P*ss Off - I'm engaged!' about 20 times so he'd given up on her and Patricia could protect her friend who had come along. Interestingly Patricia's friend is perhaps mid/late 30s so you don't have to be in your twenties to be 'sleazed'.  Just female and attractive. What amazes me is that he keeps looking at my breasts and I am TINY - does he have telescopic eyes or something??!

Eventually Mr S gave up and left and soon it was just me and Ian left so we started to head off. I was just on my way to grab a cab and Ian was waiting with me to make sure I got in OK, when I turned around, and LO! There was Dave who I had been texting me earlier! So it was back into the pub for a very nice couple more hours when I got to know his flatmate a little more and met his brother and his brother's fiancee. They were all immensely sweet and I had fun. His brother and partner even asked if I would like to come to their wedding reception in March which threw me a bit. Its lovely to be asked but I hadn't even considered going although I knew the wedding was happening. Meeting Dave's entire family a few weeks into the relationship is a bit daunting. I'd much rather do it in easy non-scary stages! But it was fantastic to be asked.

Anyway, Sat was also lovely. Dave went to Peckhams and bought humus, olives, brie, cranberry jam, and other exotic ingredients and we spent the day having a gorgeous picnic in my flat and watching movies and the rugby (both Scotland and England gubbed in one weekend - tragic). Then he went to a concert with his family and I met with my old flatmate Nikki, her boyfriend Andy, and some of their friends to go and see a production of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. It was fab.

Then, of course, I travelled from Edinburgh to London on Sunday. Its gonna be a busy week. I'm back in Edinburgh on Tues then to Ayrshire for a conference on Thurs night/Friday. I'm staying in a 5 star hotel!!!! Check it out! It's amazing! Then I stay with my parents and fly back down to London with them for my uncle's 60th birthday, back up the following Tues. Whew! I should be able to get some new textures up midweek, I think, but I can't promise anything.
