does it not really bother anybody that barack obama is upholding quite a few of the bush administrations legislations, particularly that about WARANTLESS WIRETAPPING? I mean, okay, I am not in the US right now, and granted, when you're living on a farm without television, you should at least take the time to get the news online, but the birds sing so nice and the sky is so blue, who cares about getting the news of the world? But recently I realized how little attention I have been paying to whats going on with the new administration, so I decided to do a little research. Guantanamo bay remains open as far as I understand? And, really, does him upholding this spying bullshit not really get under anybody's skin, even a little bit? And how about that law about the 500,000 dollar salary cap on senior executives of "distressed institutions" that will be implemented within the next few years and upheld by the HONOR SYSTEM??? Or, hmm, lets see, appointing Geithner as his secretary of Treasury, the former president of the Federal Reserve Bank! I wonder where this fellas interests lie. and you know, the continued investment in the war in afghanistan. though he did scrap the phrase "war on terror" apparently.
Okay, so yeah i know i am way behind on all this information, and you guys probably know all this stuff already. pardon my ingorance. but what i want to know is why nobody is saying anything about it? i guess perhaps people dont use facebook and livejournal as outlets of political venting... but, show of hands, how many of you guys in the US right now arent going "WTF???" makes me wonder who we think we voted for as opposed to who has taken office...
