I saw "the wackness" at the film festival yesterday. it reminded me of caitlin. then I saw "largo." it reminded me of elliott smith. the former was good. i imagine it will either receive way too much hype or barely make waves. it's difficult to tell which extremes people will gravitate toward. and the latter, according to the director who spoke briefly beforehand, may never be shown again. i guess it didn't score so hot with distributors. there were some great performances in it, though, by comedians John C. Riley, Zach Galifinakis (probably the highlight), and Sarah Silverman, and musicians Mr. E of the Eels(!!!!!!!), Jackson Browne, and Andrew Bird(!!!!!!).

by the time i got my shit figured out to buy tickets, all showings of choke were sold out.
