Life and Such

May 22, 2008 11:40

I come to this site every day to post, and every day I feel like I have absolutely nothing to say. My life is pretty decent right now. I wish I had a little more disposable income, but it's okay that I don't. I'm working on turning my hobby into a real career, which is fantastic, I'm engaged to the one person who has been there for me (whether on purpose or by accident) through absolutely everything for the last 4 years, and we're pretty secure where we are at the moment.

Nathan and I are trying to set a date so that I can figure out when I have to begin planning seriously.  We've basically narrowed it down to two:
Saturday, April 25, 2009
Saturday, April 24, 2010

We've pro-con listed them, and we're basically down to flipping a coin. 2010 has an advantage in that it would be more time to save up, however nothing we're planning is so expensive that we actually need that time to save up. Also, it's two years away, which is a long time and we're not sure we want to wait two years. While I could get everything together for 2009 without too much trouble, it would be less stressful to wait an extra year. The last real con to 2010 is that if my brother gets into Annapolis he'll leave in July 2009, and anytime after that it could be really hard for him to come back for anything, no matter how important. While that alone is not a reason to choose 2009, (after all it's not like Kyle would choose video games over attending my wedding) it's a more significant reason than time to plan.

I took a poll among my immediate family, and they are just as bad as me. Responses include:
Dad: 2008. Actually 2006 would have been good. No, seriously 2010, we have too much going on in 2009. Wait...2009 so Kyle can be there. Nevermind, I have no idea.
Mom: 2010, we have too much going on next year. Wait, 2009 for Kyle.
Sean: I really have no preference.
Seth: 2009, the sooner the better.
Devin: 2009...is this about sex?

Nathan says we should call the venue we're looking at and see if one of those dates is already taken. If both of them are open maybe we'll flip a coin.

wedding, engagement
