So much for phobias....

Well, I did something the other day I never thought I'd do: I held a spider. Not just any spider mind, a Chilean Rose tarantula. Her name was Tara. It was pretty cool actually and she was gorgeous, with these beautiful hues of pink and purple that appeared on her abdomen in the light.
It felt weird; like eight tiny feathers were dancing across your skin. Definitely a cool experience. It almost made up for not having our pajama party  'cos most people forgot. Almost.

In other news, I watched 'Bridge to Terabithia' tonight. HOW did it make it to Disney channel? It's one of the darkest children's movies I''ve seen in a while. I mean don't get me wrong, it was a beauty to watch, but there are some seriously dark undertones, including (but not limiting to): death, bullying and child abuse. It's basically the story of a boy who hates his life so much that he creates this imaginary land that he can escape to when he wants to get away from the real world. Yep, Disney, that's real uplifting stuff there.

Went to see Hellboy 2 the other day. In a word? Gorgeous. If I didn't already love Guillermo Del Toro's directing, I would have fallen in love there and then. Amazing. The visuals were sumptuous, the creature design was bizarrely beautiful, especially the Angel of Death. Not to mention the snappy one-liners and other other humorous moments. Beast moment? A red demon and a love-struck human shaped amphibian get drunk and start singing really cheesy love songs. Genius!
