(no subject)
Today i got back my first paper that i wrote for grad school. I was SOOOO nervous. Going into it, everyone told me not to be offended if there are mark-ups all over it because he's really critical -in a good/constructive way. Plus it was the first paper so not expect too much. During class while we were all working in groups and he was going around giving people their papers back and talking with them and discussing issues and what not. The whole time i was just telling myself "ok, if i get a 5/10 or higher don't cry.. you can save it for the car" Well he went around and then stopped and was like "ok, let's reconveine." i was like uhhhmm Rob, i didn't get my paper back... (in my head, of course). The whole time we were talking about the discussions we were having all i could think was "this has to be a bad sign and he probably wants to talk to me in private so i don't make a scene.. great."
At the end of class, i went up to the front of the room w/2 other people bc apparently they didnt get theirs back either... I was telling Rebecca that i thought it was a bad sign and she said she was thinking the exact same thing. Anyhow.. when we approached him he told us that the reason we didn't get ours back was because he was saving them to make examples out of at the end of class...
When i got mine back i got a 10/10!!!!! I only had ONE critical comment and the two others were "yes" and "fine reading" whatever the hell 'fine reading' means... Regardless, i've been on cloud nine ever since. :-)
