Yearling Winter Weekend

Feb 01, 2005 19:07

I don't think I've stopped running around since I've gotten home Sunday night. Yearling Winter Weekend was amazing. I left Friday afternoon and picked up Sarah.. we had a good time and stopped at our little Dunkin Donuts about a half hour from West Point.. haha.. maybe we'll make it a tradition??

We got to West Point and met up with Dee because she was going as Bryan's (Chris's roommate) date. Chris was actually on time!!! It was so great to see him. He gave me the biggest hug. The four of us hopped in the car and were on our way to New York City. We got there a bit later than planned because Chris got us lost several times.. it was alright though because at least he got us lost in scenic areas!

Once we finally made it into the city we got up to the apartment and Chris's uncle was still home -with his 2 dogs and cat. At that point, i learned that Dee has the craziest fear of dogs... poor thing. His uncle left about 5 minutes after we got there and all of us feeling kind of bad because it seemed like we kicked him out, even though he said we didn't. After that we went to dinner at mine and Chris's "special place" a little BBQ restuarant.. i had such a good time there. Chris had just met Dee earlier that day and felt like it was OK to take her plate when she was done and eat her left overs ..he's one of a kind...

Later that night we went to Times Square and walked around a bit then because it was freezing we decided to see a movie. We went to see National Treasure. It was actually pretty good.. kind of a fun little adventure story. Chris was amazing that night. He kept holding my hand!! (i didn't even try to make him.. it was all on his own) So i definitely took advantage of that moment. We stopped to get something to eat after the movie because the guys were hungry again and then headed home. We watched a little tv then headed to bed.

Saturday we got up and went to this mall on the pier thing that had it's very own parking garage but chris again got a little confused and we ended up walking abour 30 minutes to get there! It was good time though... we ate at a food court next to this asian stand and every time someone would walk by the woman would yell "FREE SAMPLE! YUMMY,YUMMY!!" I couldn't stop laughing even though everyone was getting so annoying... just that little asian accent.. the whole thing cracked me up!

We finally were on our way back to west point and got lost (surprised??) so it took us quite a while to get back. We finally made it, picked up Sarah and Dee, Sarah and I went to Lauren's house on post to get ready. There we met up with Lacey, Lauren and Emily -they are all such awesome girls, i wish we could've hung out for longer- I got my usual stress out before a west point function and had a little flip out and yelled at chris for not being dressed..woops!

We went back to west point and it was COLD! We went into Grant and met up with the girls. I finally met Anjoli and Joy, we all took some pictures and went to the dinner. That was a fun time. I was sitting next to Chris's TAC. Chris made me all nervous about it before hand but he turned out to be a really cool guy and told Chris that i was a keeper. That's because he told me to guess his age and i said hmmm.... 29???? hahaha.. whatever... he liked it!

After dinner we were off to the recieving line and while Dee and i were standing there and two of the women waiting at the door said that Dee and I were the 2 best dressed and prettiest girls there...ooooo :-) haha (she prob told everyone that!) We later met up with a couple of Chris's friends and took a few pictures... then headed back to the barraks

While Dee and i were "changing" we decided hmmm there aren't any boys in here so let's try on all of their clothes and hats! haha ... we did and took lots of pictures.. it was too funny... after we finally got dressed we packed up and headed back to the city. We didn't get there until about 12:30 and we were all starving. This time we had one of Chris's friends with us who was meeting his gf at columbia so we all went to times square and got dinner. We had planned on going out after but considering we weren't done eating until about 2:30, we just decided to all head home.

The next day was sad for me... we left the city in the morning and went to palisades for a little bit then back ot west point to drop everyone off. Like an idiot, i broke down in the car... and everyone started laughing at me..aww. Sarah and I headed back to MA around 5:30 and I made it home by 8:30.

It was a wonderful weekend and i have absolutely no regrets. It's truly amazing to me that I'm so crazy about my boyfriend after the year and 8 or so months we've been together. He still makes me smile every single day and i don't think things have been better between us.
