Leverage

Holy cow I love this show! It's like an A-Team/Ocean's 11 fusion, that transports its stories on the back of the fun train and doesn't tiptoe around the fact that, yeah, Nate is the dad and Sophie is the mom and the other three are the kids.

It just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy. Call me old-fashioned, but 'gritty, edgy' tv shows where you feel worse at the end of the hour than the top of it just grate on me. I watch entertainment to have fun, no to get emotionally pounded. Like someone said in a pimp post for Leverage, Nate usually gets in his requisite dose of mainpain in the episode, but then it is quickly  overtaken by the sheer exuberance of the shenanigans.

So far I'm not as impressed with the third season as the first two; I really liked how those first two had mostly standalone episodes but strong character arcs. The characters are this show's strong suit, and trying to get too plotty isn't to their advantage. (It's like Psych trying to get all serious. Not, you know, that I'm bitter or anything.)

As is my wont, soon after mainlining a goodly portion of the show, I wrote a small character vignette. If my pattern holds true that will tide me over until I've seen the whole series, at which point I will attempt some kind of overly ambitious AU.

In other news, I am also watching White Collar now. Curse my weakness for bromance.
