New Paid Account
Hello to everyone in LJ land! This is Desire', aka southern_gurl. I had some problems with people reading my LJ, and instead of having to worry about locking all my entries so certain people cannot read them, I decided to just get a new account- that way only people I tell will know my new name on here.
It's been awhile and I apologize for that. But as of today, I'm back to updating my LJ on a more regular basis.
My weekend was VERY hectic as was today. Friday I went with mom and the grandparents pay bills and such. We went to the mall and eat at Sonic's. I went to the Hallmark store and bought myself a cute picture frame and bought Tonka a "Guardian Angel" clip for his collar. I went to Old Navy as well- bought 6 summer shirts and 2 new pairs of flip flops - the ULTIMATE footwear for summer! I LOVE flip flops! I can live in those things- or just barefeet! I also went to my favorite lingerie store- Victoria's Secret. I got a free perfume sample of Body by Victoria and I paid my bill there. Oh, and I had a 10 dollar off thing they sent me for my birthday. So, I bought a Dream Angels Heavenly body wash for 5 bucks (regularly 15 withouth the 10 bucks off!). I also went to the Cajun store in the mall and bought a few postcards for a postcard swap I'm in on a message board I frequent. I think that is all I bought Friday. Oh, and since my birthday is coming up in 9 days, my grandparents gave me cash. YAY! :) Friday was a nice day out with them and a good change of pace because I had been sick all of last week. BUMMER! :( Saturday was interesting as well. We spent the day at Dad's fishing camp out on the lake. You can view pictures in my Yahoo album (username- erised415). As of this posting though, they aren't up yet. Check back tomorrow and they should be there. But anyways, the camp is coming along rather nicely. We put up the 2 sets of bunkbeds in the master bedroom and also put up the futon in the livingroom. Dad worked here and there and started in the bathroom. When we got home from the camp, they all took off to Houma (destination to Lowe's) and I stayed home. Was rather nice and peaceful having the home to myself. I LOVE it! Sunday found me back at the camp with the family. My godparents and grandparents also came along so it was really nice. Was awesome to see my grandpa at the camp (he just turned 82!)! He was in his glory- that's fur shure! :) We all had a great time out! Then today, my nanny (mom's 2nd oldest sister) was off, so we all went to Houma. She had to pay a bill so we went along. Mom bought herself (well us!) a DVD burner! WOO HOO!!!!!! I even got a job doing a picture slideshow on DVD for some girl down my nanny's street! YAY! EXTRA MONEY!!! Then we went eat at Raising Cane's- a semi new restaurant in Houma. They have the BEST chicken there! YUM YUM! My nanny treated us to lunch. I saw some really hot guys there- Oh GOD! They were totally checking me out, LOL! Though I didn't mind, of course! :) It's a sin for a guy to look so good! Anyways, we went to FashionBug afterwards to look around. I ended up buying some underthings (buy 2, get 2 free stockup sale). I gave the freebies to Mom and Nanny. I also bought myself a new pair of sunglasses. Then we went scoping the mall some. Didn't buy anything there! Then on the way home, we went pick up Claire (my nanny's grand-daughter and my 2nd cousin) at the babysitter's. We went to my nanny's house and visited with them awhile. And around 5, we headed home. It was a really nice day overall!
I'm so glad spring is finally here! My birthday is in 9 days! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! I'll be 21. LEGAL. :) On Easter, I'll have a cake and celebrate my birthday with my parents, brother, my nanny and paran, my nanny's daughter and daughter's husband and 2 kids, and my grandparents. Then next Thursday, my actual birthday, I 'll get gifts from mom and dad (money probbly- usually at least a hundred dollars) and a gift from my brother (I asked for new eyeglasses- how practical!), a bakery cake, and my favorite dinner. Next weekend, my parents and brother will probably take me eat out for my birthday and then we're hitting the casino! I"m SO EXCITED! I'm finally old enough to gamble! I only want to try it once- I see nothing wrong with that. I don't plan on making it a habit like dad did! It will be fun to go out in New Orleans though to the casinos and just have some fun for a change! Dad starts radiation this THursday, so it's going to be a long 8 weeks for my family. We need to have a little fun! :) The following weekend will be spent cleaning out the pool and getting it running for summer!
Can't wait til summer. I'll probably be going on at least 3 trips- one to Calfornia and out west with my parents, two- Panama City with my brother, and three- Tennessee at the end of June w/my whole family because my cousin there is getting married and we all want to go to the wedding. So this summer should be A LOT of fun! I need to start buying more summer clothing. I need a lot more shirts, a few shorts, and of course- a few bikinis! I'm trying to find a black bikini- my favorite swimsuit color! :) Tons of shopping to do though and hardly any cash! :( Oh well! I may be taking a 2 week class next month for Nurse Assistant to become certified. We'll see. I'd have to call about it next Thursday to set up an interview. Another thing that I want to do is get involved with Women Build- which is a branch of Habitat for Humanity , but a women only crew. Sounds like a lot of fun and a GREAT learning experience!
