How to Tell People They Sound Racist

Reminds me so very much of a couple of people I know.  In fact i just had a Im-NOT-a-racist conversation with somebody just a couple of days before I first saw this.  Actually it was less a conversation and more of the other person saying something offensive, pausing briefly as the realization dawned on them that I probably was about to object, and then defending themselves at a high pitch and an impressively fast rate, "I'mNOTracistagainstpeoplelikethat.  YouknowI'mnotracist!!1!!  YouknowI'mnotracistright?!"  Yeah, it's kinda hard to have any sort of conversation at this point.

I'd like to add some advice for people on the other side of the conversation.  We've all said really stupid, offensive things on occasion.  I wish people would just take a bit of a chill pill when they get called out for it.  Suck it up and get over yourself, admit that you're being an ass, and apologize.  Also,  when people get called out, especially by somebody belonging to the group they've just offended, I don't think they  have a right to expect that the offended party will be nice about it.  Even if they yell at you and cuss you out and tell you you're a bigot, they've probably got plenty of reason to get mad, like a lifetime of hearing people repeat the same dumb thing you just said for starters.
