Riders of Rohan...in SPACE
Wow, so I totally did not realize that the new Star Trek movie is about ALL the original characters, not just James "I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am" Kirk. My enthusiasm for this movie has just shot way up.
Of course, I love Kirk too...but it's the kind of love where you watch him karate chop the back of someone's neck and instead of being impressed just sort of laugh affectionately and think "god, this will never get old..."
McCoy is made of win, however, and when I was looking at the cast pictures I kept thinking how familiar the actor playing him looked - then I realized it was no other than Eomer son of Eomund, our good friend Karl Urban. Looking rather different without a horse and long hair... ; )
Next on my to-do list: continue to bring Charlie up to speed on the original show/movies...we left off after Search for Spock, but really, it's just not good enough until you get to save the whales. Time travel solves EVERYTHING.
