Actually, there is something of the manic about Jack--the crazy schemes, the grandiose self-image, the impulsiveness and irresponsibility, the creativity that is either "madness, or brilliance."

He could. Although at this point he already has a Plan, and they fit into it.

I think Jack really is ADHD, and probably hyperactive too. After all, these things existed long before we had names for them and ritalin. My personal theory on that is that he uses alcohol as a mild depressive, self medicating for the ADHD and relaxing him a little bit. What do you think?
